Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including work breakdown structures, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Key point of contact for customer for timely discussions and response. And drive open issues or clarifications to resolution.
  • Identify and manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Establish effective communication channels with stakeholders.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential issues or delays.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Manage procurement processes, including vendor selection and contract negotiation.
  • Coordination with project teams, manufacturing units and external suppliers for accurate procurement of project equipment and delivery.
  • Oversee engineering activities, manufacturing activities and site activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Environment Health and Safety (EHS) throughout project execution.
  • Track project performance, perform Gate reviews at key phases and generate regular progress reports.
  • Report and coordinate with region operations leader on project progress, financial performance on cost, sales, billing, cash forecast and collection.
  • Identify claim opportunity & claim negotiations.
  • Implement change management processes to address project scope changes or issues.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk mitigation measures.
  • Finalize project documentation, including project reports and lessons learned.
  • Conduct project evaluations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Handover project deliverables to the client or operations team.
  • Partners with teams from within the business unit to specify needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes.
  • Contributes to a wide variety of projects and assignments to grow leadership skills, business acumen, and technical skills.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  • Use judgment and ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated processes or issues with technical experience and analytical thinking. Use multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, project management, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience as project manager within high voltage substation protection, automation and control system field.
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering position within high voltage substation protection, automation and control system field.
  • Knowledge of protection systems: Protection IEDs, basic philosophy and schemes.
  • Knowledge of automation systems: System Network architectures, SCADA, RTU, HMI, Communication Protocols (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus etc.).
  • Knowledge of control systems: HV switchgear control, interlocking, schemes.
  • Knowledge of protection and control cubicle manufacturing.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with PMP certification.
  • Experience in international project management.
