Lead, Finance (R2R)

NTU Shared Services (NSS) Finance delivers end-to-end finance services across the University, supporting operational excellence, governance, and strategic decision-making. The Record-to-Report (R2R) function is a core pillar responsible for financial reporting, accounting integrity, and data governance.

This role leads the R2R function covering General Ledger, Fixed Assets and Master Data Management, ensuring accurate and timely financial close and reporting. The position also drives process optimisation, automation, and transformation initiatives, positioning R2R as a strategic finance partner.

Success in this role will be reflected in stronger close discipline, improved reporting quality, enhanced data governance, and measurable progress in process optimisation and digitalisation across the R2R function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end R2R operations, including General Ledger, Fixed Assets and Master Data Management

• Oversee month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close, ensuring accuracy, completeness and strong cut-off discipline

• Manage balance sheet integrity, including reconciliation governance and timely resolution of exceptions

• Support preparation of management, statutory and audit reports, ensuring reliability and compliance

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation requirements (including GST and Withholding Tax reporting validation) and NTU policies

• Drive review and validation of GST/WHT returns, ensuring alignment with GL and underlying financial data

• Strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks and audit readiness across R2R processes

• Drive process improvements, automation and digital initiatives (e.g. RPA, analytics, system enhancements)

• Oversee finance system governance and data integrity, including master data quality and controls

• Partner stakeholders (OFIN, Schools, Departments, CITS) to provide accounting advisory and resolve complex issues

• Lead and develop the R2R team, building strong technical accounting, systems and data capabilities

Requirements:

• Degree in Accountancy or equivalent (CPA/CA preferred)

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in financial reporting / GL / R2R

• Strong knowledge of:
  - Financial close and reporting
  - General Ledger and balance sheet governance
  - Fixed assets accounting
  - Accounting standards and GST/WHT principles

• Experience in leading teams and managing stakeholders

• Experience as a digital finance change agents on AI-enabled finance processes
