Job Description
Get to know our team:
The Consumer Experience team at Grab leads the way for the overall Grab SuperApp experience including the app's information rich homepage, user profiles, Grab Unlimited (the biggest loyalty program of SEA), new user adoption & retention along with connecting the dots across multiple businesses and experiences that are consumer facing.
Get to know the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Lead Data Scientist to join our Consumer Experience team.
You will be building advanced machine learning models for personalization, recommendation, prediction, and optimization for multiple product features in order to enhance the Grab SuperApp experience.
The day-to-day activities:
- Analyze and research large volumes of unstructured data, understand the user experience, the product flow, and strategic direction of applying machine learning technologies in improving the status-quo
- Design, develop, train and deploy advanced machine learning models
- Perform model evaluation and A/B testing to measure the impact of the work
- Effectively communicate results and their implications to business/product stakeholders
- Dedicate time to research the latest advancements and experiment with innovative approaches to test their effectiveness
Qualifications
The must haves:
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in developing machine learning algorithms in a large scale and real time environment.
- Ph.D. or Master's in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related technical disciplines
- Strong fundamentals in Machine Learning, NLP algorithms and Mathematics
- Familiar with mainstream deep learning programming framework (e.g. TensorFlow)
- Familiar with popular personalization and recommendation algorithms.
- Proficient in statistical programming in languages such as Python; and strong working knowledge in RDBMS such as PostgresQL or MySQL
- Excellent software development capabilities, preferably in Python/Scala/C++ with good programming style and work habits; knowledge of GoLang would be an advantage
- Self-motivated and independent learner who is willing to share knowledge with the team
- Efficient and detail oriented; good time management in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment
Really good to haves:
- Experience in user growth, retention algorithms
- Experience in social network related prediction and mining algorithms
