Business Architecture and Country COO are part of Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB), International Chief Operating Office (ICOO) and responsible for supporting and managing operating model and legal entity BAU and change initiatives that may span the Americas and international.

The Lead Business Execution Consultant position reports directly to the Head of Country COO, APAC & Business Architecture, International and will work across the key front line and functional teams accountable for delivery of target state operating models, as well as directly supporting one or more entities with governance and business management services. Responsibilities – Operating Models

  • Manage and support the development of detailed operating model components, including roles and responsibilities, in line with the agreed target operating model.
  • Maintain, and deploy consistently designed operating model data inventories and ensure scalable processes are implemented that leverage the data sets effectively and efficiently
  • Collaborate and consult with members of the International / APAC COO and management team to drive strategic initiatives
  • Drive accountability for assigned initiatives, limit risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address known gaps and deficiencies in an effective and timely manner.
  • Assist with the development of fit for purpose training modules to support the implementation and embedding of target operating models.
  • Ensures the development of effective communication plans that address relevant internal as well as external stakeholders.

Responsibilities – Country COO

  • Manage and facilitate the governance framework, including relevant management meetings, aligning to regulatory expectations, internal governance principles and best practices
  • Provide on the ground support to the legal entity managers and business leadership team to drive / coordinate the execution and implementation of local governance and business-related processes and initiatives.
  • Work with the 2nd line of defense to ensure we design ‘core controls’ in line with the enterprise initiative to simplify the number of controls, ideally defining single controls to address multiple risks.
  • Drive efficiency in legal entity governance and business management by identifying areas for consolidation, simplification, optimization.
  • Perform assessments through fact finding and data analysis, requiring consistent and scalable approaches to solving complex issues, and develop appropriate solutions or recommendations
  • Coordinate responses to audit, testing and validation and other risk and control reviews, working with internal stakeholders as well as support functions as appropriate

Risk and Conduct

  • Responsible for working closely with control and risk program leaders to lead and promote a strong risk culture and to ensure effective communication and collaborative partnerships.
  • Promotes new thinking, pro-active solutions, and ways of working to address issues and mitigate risks.
  • Role models the behaviors that underpin the organization’s values and reinforces their importance in interactions at all levels of the organization.
  • Initiates and facilitates deep dive reviews, where appropriate, of ‘at risk’ projects and initiatives to identify and address issues and effectively mitigate risk that threaten the achievement of the overall transformation goals.
  • Reviews strategic direction at regular intervals and proposes course correcting actions where appropriate.

Skills/Experience Required

  • 5+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Extensive experience (> 6 years) in the financial services industry including Global Banking, Global Markets, Transaction Banking, Commercial Banking, Client Units and Group Functions such as Change, Finance, Risk, Operations, IT, Legal and Compliance.
  • Meaningful knowledge across enterprise risk management framework, including risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance.
  • Experience working in a regional environment and understanding of regional, country, and legal entity complexities and expectations.
  • Understanding of best practice risk management techniques across financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and understanding of how they are implemented, managed, and enforced.
  • Significant and proven experience in leading transformation projects and initiatives across business and multiple functions in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Commercially aware with strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Constructive and solution orientated with the ability to influence and mediate between various teams.
  • Credibility and confidence working at senior levels in the organization; comfortable working with C-suite executives across the range of business functions.
