Reporting to the Director of Landing Station Program Management, the Regional Landing Station Manager – APAC is responsible for the regional execution of Telesat’s LEO Landing Station deployments across the Asia-Pacific region. This role supports the Landing Station Site Acquisition Lead in identifying and evaluating candidate sites and works closely with internal teams and external partners to manage the planning, contracting, and construction of landing station facilities. The Regional Manager will oversee site-specific schedules, risk tracking, and coordination to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of infrastructure aligned with long-term operational goals.
Main Responsibilities:
- Program Execution & Planning:
- Own and maintain the deployment plan for assigned LightSpeed Landing Station sites in the APAC region, ensuring alignment with overall program objectives.
- Develop and manage site-specific documentation, schedules, and resource plans to support effective execution.
- Track progress of suppliers, hosts, and contractors to ensure timely and compliant delivery; implement corrective actions as needed to maintain schedule integrity.
- Site Development Support:
- Support the Site Acquisition Lead in evaluating hosting proposals and vendor submissions; contribute to site selection recommendations based on technical and operational criteria.
- Coordinate site surveys, design reviews, and implementation planning in collaboration with engineering and vendor teams.
- Oversee regional execution of site infrastructure buildout, including ground network integration, antenna equipment installation, and readiness for site handover to the commissioning team
- Technical Coordination:
- Participate in ground segment design reviews and support Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT).
- Ensure site designs meet Telesat’s technical, regulatory, and operational requirements, including frequency interference surveys and satellite coverage analysis.
- Support the development and delivery of training materials for Field Service Representatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with Engineering, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, and Logistics teams to coordinate regional deployment activities, including import/export compliance and licensing.
- Assist in the preparation and evaluation of RFPs, vendor proposals, and contract documentation in collaboration with Contracts and Legal teams.
- Operational Readiness:
- Ensure that deployed Landing Stations meet performance expectations and are integrated into Telesat’s global monitoring, ticketing, and SLA management systems.
- Support the transition of sites into operations, including configuration management and ongoing maintenance planning.
- Program Management & Reporting:
- Provide regular updates to the Director of Landing Station Program Management on site status, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Identify and manage interdependencies across teams and vendors to ensure smooth execution and alignment with program milestones.
Education & Experience Required:
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure or telecom project management, preferably in international or regional roles.
- Strong understanding of site development, construction coordination, and vendor management.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, legal, and regulatory.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Willingness to travel regionally as required.
