Position Description

The Sales Trader will play an instrumental role in the development of business relationships and maximization of revenues from institutional accounts and hedge funds. The Sales Trader should be equipped to develop a strong knowledge of client needs and requirements and coordinate efforts to service client organizations efficiently. It typically involves working closely with the client’s investment personnel, updating on market news, events and themes as well as advising clients on trading strategies & solutions to achieve best execution. 

The role will require the ability to work closely with our global execution teams, sales & research as well as cross-sell within the group in order to leverage product penetration and revenue with the existing and potential client base.

This role will report into the Head of Sales Trading – ASEAN.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

To develop a highly performant client base by:

  • Discussing trading strategies, market intelligence & market flow trends

  • Cultivating a strong client working relationship on assigned account coverages

  • Identifying opportunities to cross sell CITICS/CLSA products to specified accounts

  • Performing accurate execution in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related disciplines

  • 2 – 4 years’ experience in a dynamic brokerage house

  • Entrepreneurial focused individual with a “client-service” driven mentality

  • Strong communication skills

  • Good usage knowledge of market data-vendors like Bloomberg

  • Good understanding of the front to back process flow

  • Familiar with risk associated with sales trading role

  • Naturally adept at working within a team, whilst at the same time being a self-starter with strong motivation and focus

  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Mandarin
