ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a self-motivated Junior Legal Counsel/Paralegal, with excellent interpersonal skills and strong business acumen who will provide relevant advisory on a wide breadth of topics which translate into immediate impact to Circles’s hypergrowth.

The successful candidate will report to the General Counsel, and will have an opportunity to work within an entrepreneurial environment, having the personal freedom to act, and be part of a fun, energetic team who are running at full speed to ignite a digital disruption in the telecommunications industry.

Additional topics could include legal advisory related to development of new products, expansion into new markets, or areas of privacy, security, and compliance.
This is a group-level role based in Singapore.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Provide support to stakeholders and business units on contract and internal compliance matters
  • Provide assistance and support with corporate secretarial matters and administration, including drafting resolutions and managing external corporate secretarial providers
  • Support the Legal team in drafting, reviewing and editing various contracts including non-disclosure and service agreements
  • Assist in editing and proofreading various contracts, formal correspondence and legal filings to comply with legislation/regulations
  • Conducting legal research, reviewing, tracking and monitoring legislation that impacts the company
  • Provide assistance with drafting and updating compliance policies, and monitoring compliance with the policies
  • Conduct training for internal stakeholders on the group’s legal and compliance policies
  • Organize and maintain legal files, records, and documents
  • Manage and maintain databases and tracking systems
  • Administrative support for the legal department including scheduling meetings, taking minutes, assisting with claims, filing and general day-to-day support.

WHO YOU’LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in law or Diploma in law
  • Qualified to practice law in at least one APAC country (preferred) with the tenacity to learn new areas of law
  • At least 3-4 years’ experience, preferably in the tech / digital space, or with the necessary corporate experience
  • Passion for technology businesses and the latest developments in the space, either from an inhouse or law firm background
  • Knowledge and understanding of law and regulations applicable to TMT space would be a bonus
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in navigating and excelling in highly ambiguous environments
  • Willingness and flexibility to work with all levels of the organization, and to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and ability to foster / manage relationships across multiple departments
