The IT Configuration Management specialist is responsible for managing the configuration management function within IT Asset Management and Configuration Management Team. This pivotal role is to ensure the accurate identification, control, and maintenance of all IT configuration items (CIs) across the organization’s infrastructure and services to meet operational and security standards.
What you do

  • Manage and drive the development, implementation, and enforcement of IT configuration management strategies, policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity.

  • Identify and classify configuration items (CIs) including hardware, software, infra components and documentation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all configuration changes are properly authorized, documented, and reflected in the CMDB.

  • Drive automation and integration of configuration management processes with ITSM, and asset management tool.

  • Conduct audits and assessments of configurations to validate compliance and improve processes.

  • Generate and present reports on configuration status, change history, and compliance metrics as part of process governance.

Who you are
 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in IT configuration management or related IT service management roles.

  • Deep expertise in ITIL framework, configuration management principles, and CMDB management.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of configuration management principles, tools, and best practices.

  • Hands-on experience with CMDB tools

  • Familiarity with Asset Management, Change Management, and Release Management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation abilities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
