Lead investment product strategy, profitability and growth across unit trusts, FX, bonds, structured notes, equities and financing. Manage product lifecycle, partner relationships, digital adoption, regulatory compliance, risk oversight, team leadership, go-to-market and cross-sell initiatives, and run product-related projects and training.
Responsibilities:
- Drive and manage overall profitability of respective product lines, e.g., Unit Trusts, FX, DCIs, Bonds, Structured Notes, Equities, and Portfolio Financing / Reverse Repo.
- Drive and implement investment’s product strategy, growth and profitability.
- Drive wealth penetration (e.g., partner with product provider, implement/promote which product) and introduce new products for various segments (e.g., wills for silver generation, etc.).
Proactively identify key products trends and independently lead both internal and external parties to establish product ideas and generation to on-board new investment products for the consumer sales and distribution teams.
- Act as a key contact point between external product partners and primary gatekeeper to assess investments product viability.
- Oversee and lead projects (digital and non-digital), client seminars and periodic investment product or sales meetings pertaining to the investment products.
Keep abreast of the market landscape in to take proactive actions to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate potential threats to the products/services offering.
Lead and drive the development and holistic management of product offering, pricing, marketing, MIS and distribution strategy.
- Assess and prioritise investment products for migration to digital channels such as Clicks, so as to create new channels for product adoption and grow investment penetration for Preferred clients, SG-MY clients and mortgage customers by a palatable percentage (e.g., up by 25% over the next 3 years, etc.).
- Identify and to scale the reach of product management ideas regionally wherever possible, e.g., via cross-border referrals.
- Run business process improvement initiatives to improve work flow and improve resource utilisation.
- Drive investment product adoption and cross-sell via traditional as well as new channels such as Clicks, whatsapp, etc.
- Collaborate and work with the Digital Banking team to drive online sales of UTs (e.g., $30m sales in 2025).
- Participate and undertake at least 2 digital enhancement projects per year.
- Work with the Preferred and CIO team on half-annual market outlook events and opportunities to engage clients and promote thought leadership.
- Lead both Investment Advisory Specialists to generate product ideas, training programmes and RM engagement activities to build awareness and highlight the importance of investing and to upskill RMs’ competency, and also work with on small scale talks / events to engage clients and cross-sell initiatives.
- Lead and provide guidance to Investment Products specialists to develop, build and lead the team to ensure cohesiveness and effectiveness of the team.
- Ensure proper due diligence on investment products prior to product launch and provide proper and timely updates and documentation of the unit's standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide oversight to product providers on training and equipping CIMB SG’s sales teams with required knowledge and skills.
- Recommend framework, process improvements and work together with various stakeholders(e.g., Sales Governance, Platform Efficiency and Digital SG team) to enhance product offerings.
- Collaborate with the management team and other stakeholders (e.g.,Treasury, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Group) to align investment product strategies with overall business and to support evolving business needs.
- Prepare and present papers to various Singapore and Group Committees as required, e.g., Affluent Products Committee, Fair Dealing Committee, SRCC, GRCC, etc.
- Accountable for and adherence to risk management policies and guidelines.
- Accountable for and adherence to applicable regulatory guidelines and operate the business within the approved regulatory environment.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and/or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
Professional Qualification and/or Regulatory, Licensing Requirements
- CMFAS 1B, 5, 6, 6A, 8, & 8A
- CFA or CFP would be an advantage
Relevant Work Experience
- At least 8 years of banking experience
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in investment product management, advisory services, or related roles within the banking or financial services industry
