Since our entry into the renewables market in 2010, OEGEN has achieved remarkable milestones, becoming a leading investor in onshore wind across mainland Europe, the largest investor in solar power in Europe, and recently venturing into offshore wind projects. Currently, we manage a global portfolio of over £7 billion in renewable energy assets.
Our operational portfolio consists of more than three hundred large-scale energy-generating companies. We take pride in our wind farms, solar power plants, and upcoming projects in energy storage and hydrogen. To support our ambitious growth plans and long-term ownership of energy assets, we are expanding our team.
We've started investing in Asia from 2023 and since the Singapore team has completed significant milestones, currently managing various mandates involving projects in 5 countries, and are further looking to expand our investment base in the region rapidly.
This is a great opportunity for a Senior professional with experience working on deals in solar, wind (onshore & offshore), energy storage and other energy transition asset management to join a fast growing team based out of Tokyo or Singapore.
What you'll do
- Assist the Head of Investments (Asia) to develop and raise capital for the investment strategy in Asia, more specifically in Japan
- Originate and screen new investment opportunities in Asia, more specifically in Japan
- Assist the Head of Investments (Asia) to manage our investment portfolio
- Liaise with our HQ team in London on matters related to internal processes
- Mentor junior colleagues in Singapore and UK
- Represent Octopus Energy Generation in conferences and meetings with investors
What you'll need
- PE / M&A / advisory experience in APAC with reputed institutions
- Strong experience in deal screening and financial modelling
- Strong deal origination network within Asia
- Strong fluency in English and business level fluency in Japanese
- Understanding of the renewables and/or infrastructure asset classes
- Understanding of investor preferences and & ability to contribute technical & operational knowledge to identify innovative strategies would also be a plus
- Entrepreneurial and team spirit, financial - acumen and presentation skills
- Knowledge of local markets in Asia especially Japan, development, construction risk underwriting processes
