The Internal Communications Lead is responsible for developing an internal communications strategy, managing newsletters, leading employee engagement events, and providing communication support during crises. They also enhance the corporate narrative, produce content for various channels, and ensure governance of internal communications.
Job Description
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a comprehensive internal communications plan to deliver the company’s strategic messages and provide all employees with regular, meaningful, and consistent information about the business.
- Manage the end-to-end creation and production of the company internal communication portal (OneGAR), which includes suggesting content for the editorial calendar, scheduling the editorial timeline, sourcing articles, editing, coordinating with the other team such as HR, IR, Marketing Communication, etc, and ensuring the timely production and dissemination of content—cover and report on events across the company’s operations globally for internal publication.
- Lead and manage employee engagement events and campaigns (e.g. Global Townhall, CSR activities, etc.).
- Develop storytelling and corporate narratives to enhance corporate reputation as a responsible agribusiness and employer branding as a great place to work in collaboration with HR
- Provide the Content Marketing Team with relevant content for the company’s social media channels.
- Be a member of the crisis communications committee to provide communications advice and manage communications to internal stakeholders.
- Identify sources for content, both internally and externally, to ensure that there is no disruption in ongoing content creation.
- Proactively share communications best practices, learnings, and successes – among offices in various countries.
- Cover and report on events across the company’s operations globally for internal publication.
- Work with the Production team to produce relevant content for internal publications such as brochures, leaflets, etc.
- Implement and introduce proper governance (gatekeeper of all internal communications to the whole of business) and proactively share communications best practices, learnings, and successes – among countries globally.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Corporate Communication, Vice President Strategic Communication and Branding, and Chief Sustainability and Communication Officer as and when necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Language Proficiency:
- Mandatory: Excellent written and verbal skills in English. Knowledge in Indonesian is a major advantage.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or a related role, ideally within a multinational or similar industry.
- Proven track record of developing and executing communication strategies that drive employee engagement.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the palm oil industry or agribusiness is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and communication tools/platforms (SharePoint, Yammer, or similar).
- Adept at using analytics to measure communication effectiveness.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Strong cultural awareness and the ability to adapt communication styles across different audiences.
