Support development of tools that parse P&ID diagrams, recognize symbols, generate node-connection graphs, produce XML data, and create UI components for maritime automation systems. Assist with computer vision, OCR, image processing, algorithm testing, and validation of AI-generated outputs. Collaborate with cross-functional engineers while applying Python and frontend technologies to automate the transformation of engineering diagrams into structured data and interactive interfaces.
Company Overview
NACOS Marine is a globally integrated group of companies at the forefront of maritime automation, navigation, and control systems. Building on decades of expertise and a heritage of trusted solutions, NACOS Marine continues to pioneer technologies that set the standard for safer, smarter, and more efficient ship operations worldwide.
Our engineering teams develop advanced digital and automation solutions that support smarter vessel operations and future maritime technologies.
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Intern – Project Engineering (m/f/d) to join our engineering team in developing intelligent, automated tools for processing technical diagrams and integrating structured data into maritime system environments.
Today, User Interfaces (UI) for maritime systems are often recreated manually from P&ID diagrams, a time-consuming, error-prone, and highly complex process. The goal of this internship is to support the development of tools and workflows that automate and simplify the transformation of P&ID diagrams into structured system data and interactive UI interfaces, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy across engineering workflows.
This internship offers hands-on experience in computer vision, image processing, and software development applied to real-world maritime engineering challenges.
