What does the Financial Institutions Team do in ING?

ING’s Financial Institutions (FI) sector combines relationship management, multi-product sales and structured lending for Bank and Non-bank Financial Institutions (NBFI). NBFI clients include sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, pension funds, securities companies and alternative and traditional asset managers.

What would you be doing?

  • Work closely with the FI Coverage, Trade Finance product sales teams.

  • Assist with origination efforts including briefing memos, client mapping, research, and pitch presentations.

  • Assist with portfolio management including customer due diligence, transaction management, and client monitoring.

  • Prepare communication for various internal stakeholders including account plans, pipeline tracking, transaction status, and other portfolio updates.

  • Assist with KYC matters (both internal and external stakeholders)

  • Monitor information and news services on client base and share client/sector developments with the team

  • Support the FI Trade finance team with account management duties such as logging trade finance transactions, transactional due diligence and transaction execution.

  • Assist in compiling data, pricing grid updates and Trade finance portfolio analysis.

What qualities, skills and other criteria are we looking for?

We are looking for a passionate individual who meets the following criteria: 

Qualification:

  • 2nd to final year undergraduate with a demonstrated interest in banking and finance.

Skills & Competencies:

•           Basic understanding of how a wholesale bank operates and its business model.

•           Ability to work within deadlines with limited supervision and a high level of initiative.

•           Willingness to learn and contribute meaningfully to the team and the bank as a whole.

•           Ability to communicate clearly with fluent spoken and written English.

•           Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
