What would you be doing?

We have a Business Management internship opening, covering the APAC COO organization within WB Asia. This is a non-client facing role, with a diverse portfolio of responsibilities. Highly cross-functional with exposure to senior executives across APAC, this role will suit someone with strong analytical and organisational skills but wants to experience a broader role to support also operations and projects.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with an interest in Wholesale Banking and its related products (Financial Markets, Lending, Transaction Services, Trade Finance Commodities) as well as the drive to improve operational processes supporting these business lines. The ideal candidate will have a high interest on operational optimization, efficiency gains and standardization of processes.

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Assisting in the development and implementation of business strategies to achieve company goals. This might involve market research, data collection, analysis, and internal process reviews.

  • Project Management: Planning and coordinating various COO projects and strategic initiatives, including but not limited to improving operational processes for higher efficiency and organising team activities or learnings to optimise performance.

  • Operational support: Coordination of operational activities and support the delivery of events such as workshops, training sessions etc.

  • Communication & Coordination: Support internal communications, disseminating information, and managing communications.

What qualities, skills and other criteria are we looking for?

We are looking for a passionate individual who meets the following criteria: 

  • You should have legal work rights in the country of internship

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Able to visualize and understand the end to end of a process

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)

  • Reasonable level of savviness with IT and data to be efficient in work

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, concise business insights

  • Previous internship in business management would be of added value

What would you gain from this internship?

  • Experience a banking environment and get a feel for how a wholesale bank operates. Ability to interact and learn from a variety of banking professionals and build upon skills such as team work, influencing and learn banking concepts.
