Title: Install Base & Lifecycle Services Product Manager
Function/Department: Service Management
Reports To: Regional Service Product Sr. Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Vertiv is seeking an Install Base & Lifecycle Services Product Manager to drive the success and expansion of lifecycle service revenue across our product lines: Thermal, Power, IT Systems, and Infrastructure Solutions.

You will map, analyse, and monetise Vertiv's regional equipment population — identifying replacement windows, modernisation opportunities, and lifecycle service triggers. You will develop and execute the Install Base Penetration strategy, deploy membership or contract plans/programs, and build the sales pipeline from install base analytics.  Reporting to the Head of Service Product Management, this is a high-impact individual contributor role with a clear trajectory into team leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install Base Mapping & Data Strategy
    • Own the regional installed base database — build, cleanse, enrich, and maintain equipment records across all product lines
    • Develop install base mapping frameworks showing equipment age, warranty status, service history, and lifecycle position
    • Partner with Sales, CRM, and field teams to close data gaps and improve install base accuracy and coverage
    • Create and maintain install base dashboards to support pipeline visibility and opportunity identification
  • Lifecycle Services Go-to-Market
    • Define and package regional lifecycle service offerings: modernisation, retrofit, Li-Ion conversion, fluid management, and equipment refresh
    • Develop lifecycle service bundles aligned with T&M growth initiative revenue targets
    • Create sales enablement tools — lifecycle maps, replacement calculators, ROI models, and customer-facing collateral
    • Coordinate with the Service Product Manager, and Pricing Manager and Commercial on pricing, packaging, and launch readiness
  • Opportunity Management & Pipeline Development
    • Build and manage the lifecycle services opportunity pipeline from install base analytics
    • Create opportunity management dashboards for Sales — surfacing equipment due for replacement, contract expiry, and upsell triggers
    • Collaborate with Sales leadership to convert install base insights into qualified service opportunities
    • Report on pipeline health, conversion rates, and revenue contribution from lifecycle services
  • Lifecycle Analytics & Replacement Triggers
    • Analyse equipment populations to identify replacement windows, modernisation triggers, and retrofit opportunities
    • Map product populations against lifecycle stages: Commission → Warranty → PM → Replacement → Modernisation → EOL/Obsolescence
    • Develop predictive models for equipment replacement timing based on age, utilisation, failure trends, and obsolescence risk
    • Align lifecycle trigger data with Vertiv's EOL process (EOS, EOP, EOSL, OBS) to proactively position service interventions
  • Install Base Penetration
    • Design and execute the regional Install Base Penetration strategy to increase service attachment on existing equipment populations
    • Deploy structured customer engagement initiatives to gather install base insights that inform program design
    • Track penetration rates, conversion metrics, and coverage rates across market units
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
    • Serve as the regional authority on install base data, lifecycle positioning, and equipment replacement strategy
    • Present lifecycle analytics and penetration metrics to regional and global leadership on a regular cadence
    • Coordinate with global Offering Managers on Sustaining and EOL product transitions to ensure service continuity
    • Deliver quarterly install base health reports with actionable recommendations for Sales and Service leadership

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 7–10 years in service strategy, install base management, lifecycle services, or technical services
  • Strong data analytics skills — experience with install base segmentation, lifecycle modelling, and predictive replacement analysis
  • Broad product knowledge across at least two of: Thermal, Power (UPS/switchgear), Infrastructure Solutions, or IT Systems
  • Understanding of equipment lifecycle stages including warranty, renewal, modernization, retrofit, and EOL/obsolescence
  • Experience developing service programs, or install base penetration strategies

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Experience with Vertiv or a comparable OEM service organisation
  • Install base management experience with data modelling / analysis
  • Experience with Li-Ion conversion programs or equipment modernization and consulting or advisory initiatives
