HR Manager

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders across the APJ region, partnering closely with management to develop and execute people strategies that drive business growth, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent development, and employee engagement. This role provides both strategic and operational HR support across multiple markets, ensuring alignment between business objectives, local employment legislation, compliance requirements, and HR best practices. Working closely with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), the successful candidate will support the full employee lifecycle, lead organizational change and employee relations initiatives, and influence leaders across different levels and geographies within a complex multinational environment.

What you will do

  • Partner with business leaders to develop and execute people strategies that support business objectives, growth plans, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide strategic HR guidance and coaching to managers on talent management, employee engagement, performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Lead and support organizational design, restructuring, change management, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, workplace investigations, disciplinary cases, and conflict resolution while ensuring compliance with local employment laws.
  • Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence, including Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, and HR Operations, to deliver integrated HR solutions.
  • Drive talent reviews, succession planning, leadership development, and retention strategies to build a strong talent pipeline.
  • Utilize HR metrics and workforce data to identify trends, provide insights, and support informed business decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor regulations, company policies, and governance requirements across multiple countries within the region.
  • Organize and run employee engagement and CSR activities.
  • Support the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee development, engagement, performance management, organizational changes, and offboarding activities.

What you will need to have

  • Native or business-level proficiency in Japanese (written and verbal communication) is mandatory.
  • Strong employee relations expertise, including experience managing investigations, organizational change, restructures, and complex workplace matters.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR strategies, talent initiatives, and workforce plans to organizational goals.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including experience leveraging HR data, insights, and HRIS platforms such as Workday to support decision-making.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution while working across multiple cultures, time zones, and geographies.
