The HR Business Partner will lead workforce planning, performance management, talent succession, and employee relations, partnering with leaders to shape HR strategy and drive organizational growth.

Business UnitThe S3 HR and Management Line follows a "User-Focused and Employee-Oriented" philosophy and employs a three-pillar HR organization model. By offering "productized services and marketized management," the S3 HR and Management Line provides comprehensive support for developing Tencent's organization, talent, and culture, enabling employees to grow with the company.

What the Role Entails

Responsibilities

  • Act as HRBP to the Tencent Cloud business lines across APAC, providing localized support and ensuring alignment with global and regional HR strategies
  • Being a trusted advisor to provide insights on business decisions from a human capital perspective which includes but not limited to talent management, performance management, workforce strategy, employee engagement & retention.
  • Collaborate closely with the business leaders on people matters which may have short-, medium- or long-term effects on the business
  • Identify opportunities for resource sharing and ensuring compliance in workforce decisions
  • Driving and helping to connect the dots between regional/local decisions in contrast with HQ decisions, to mediate and align expectations across all parties
  • Lead and manage cross-functional HR projects and collaborate with other BPs to promote strategic alignment and project execution

  • Ability to operate in ambiguous and grey-zone scopes — defining and creating value where frameworks don’t yet exist
  • Requires self-direction and initiative to build new relationships, identify gaps, and drive change
  • Must be comfortable navigating cross-cultural stakeholder management and regional diversity

Who We Look For

Qualifications

  • 1-5 years of HR experience, either as consultant, HRBP, HR function specialist, or recruitment will be welcome
  • Strong regional exposure across APAC, demonstrating strong stakeholder management skills and business acumen
  • Someone who is positive, possess a can-do attitude and can navigate in highly matrixed and ambiguous environments
  • Strong people skillsets and able to build relationships across all levels of staff, be culturally sensitive and adaptable to different people styles
  • Strong learning agility, with good ability to bounce back and quickly learn from past experiences, improve, and adapt
  • Multi-lingual abilities (English/Chinese/Japanese/Korean) will be considered a competitive edge as it will be required to deal with employees locally
  • Be willing to be based in Shenzhen or HK for the first 3-6 months of employment to get on board and integrate into the team
