What you will do. A glimpse in your role:

The HR Business partner (Japan) plays a strategic role in supporting business leaders across the company. This role is responsible for aligning HR initiatives with business objectives, driving organizational effectiveness, enhancing employee engagement, and advising on workforce planning and development. The HRBP partners with senior leadership to shape people strategies and lead cross-functional HR projects.

This position reports to the VP, Regional HRBP & Office Management APAC, and works closely with the APAC HR Team—specifically with the HRBP for North Asia—to ensure consistent, high-quality HR delivery aligned with regional strategies.

Your responsibilities include: 

Strategic Business Partnering

  • Serve as the primary HR advisor to the client group’s leadership, influencing business decisions with a people-focused perspective.

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.

  • Drive talent management, succession planning, and organizational design initiatives.

Employee Engagement & Culture Building

  • Develop and implement initiatives that foster a high-performance, inclusive, and engaged work environment.

  • Lead employee feedback and engagement programs to identify areas for improvement.

Organizational Development & Change Management

  • Lead change management strategies to support business transformation.

  • Champion organizational effectiveness through team dynamics, leadership development, and capability building.

HR Projects & Leadership

  • Oversee the planning and execution of strategic HR projects across client groups.

  • Collaborate with HR colleagues regionally and globally to ensure alignment and execution of HR programs.

Coaching & Advisory

  • Provide coaching to managers and leaders to enhance leadership capabilities and people management practices.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, payroll, and benefits.

Collaboration & Team Support

  • Partner with the HR Generalist in Japan to ensure seamless HR operations.

  • Ensure that all HR processes are implemented and consistently followed.

  • Complete HR administration tasks accurately and on time.

  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of monthly payroll.

  • Provide backup support as needed and contribute to overall HR team effectiveness.

Key competencies to empower your journey. You'll drive towards success if: 
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in an HRBP or similar strategic HR role.

  • Experience supporting commercial or tech-driven teams preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Fluent in English and Japanese and/or other Asian languages preferred.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel regionally when required.
