The Funding & Partnerships team helps secure grants and other non-dilutive funding to further develop selected high-potential projects. The team is responsible for identifying appropriate funding opportunities from governmental agencies, foundations, philanthropic organisations, corporate programmes, and other external sources. They also help connect teams with expertise, partners, and resources needed to strengthen translational and commercialisation efforts, improve funding competitiveness, and accelerate development and adoption.

The Role

The Grants Administrator provides operational, administrative, and compliance support across the full lifecycle of externally funded commercialisation programmes.

Working closely with the Principal, Funding & Partnerships, you will coordinate funding submissions, administer awards, support reporting and compliance activities, maintain accurate funding records, and help ensure funded projects are executed efficiently and in accordance with sponsor requirements.

This role is responsible for enabling a high-quality, scalable, and well-governed funding operation that supports NUS Enterprise's growing commercialisation portfolio.

What You'll Do

Funding Administration

  • Support the preparation and submission of funding applications and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate application workflows, approvals, deadlines, and submission requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of funding opportunities, applications, awards, and project documentation.
  • Support award acceptance, onboarding, and project setup activities.

Award Management and Compliance

  • Track milestones, deliverables, reporting requirements, and compliance obligations across funded projects.
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of progress reports, financial reports, and other sponsor deliverables.
  • Monitor project activities and escalate potential compliance or reporting risks.
  • Support audits, reviews, and other governance activities.

Financial and Portfolio Administration

  • Track budgets, expenditures, and funding utilisation.
  • Support portfolio reporting, data analysis, and performance monitoring activities.
  • Maintain accurate portfolio records and reporting dashboards.
  • Assist with funding metrics, portfolio analytics, and management reporting.

Operational Excellence

  • Improve administrative processes, workflows, templates, and reporting practices.
  • Support implementation of digital and AI-enabled tools that improve efficiency and quality.
  • Contribute to the development of operational standards and best practices.

Requirements

What You Bring

  • 3–6 years of experience in grants administration, funding administration, research administration, project administration, programme operations, or related fields.
  • Experience coordinating complex processes involving multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience using productivity, reporting, and workflow management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience supporting grant-funded or externally funded projects.
  • Familiarity with funding agency requirements, reporting obligations, or compliance processes.
  • Experience supporting research commercialisation, innovation programmes, startups, or university environments.
  • Familiarity with grant management systems, workflow platforms, or AI-enabled productivity tools.
