Role Summary
At ResMed, our Manufacturing Engineering team plays a critical role in transforming innovative product designs into safe, high-quality, and scalable manufacturing solutions. As a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer, you will be embedded within a Product Focus Team (PFT) and work closely with Production, Quality, and Product Development to support day-to-day manufacturing operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
This role is ideal for hands-on engineering graduates who are excited to learn on the shop floor, solve real manufacturing problems, and contribute ideas that improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
Let’s Talk About Responsibilities:
Product Focus Team (PFT) Support
Provide direct engineering support to the PFT by developing a deep understanding of the manufacturing and assembly processes.
Support production teams in troubleshooting process and equipment issues to maintain output, quality, and safety.
Assist in activities related to process deviations, defects, or equipment challenges.
Manufacturing Process & Documentation
Create, update, and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flows, and validation records.
Support process validation and verification activities in line with regulated Quality System requirements.
Ensure manufacturing processes comply with OH&S, GMP, and quality standards.
Hands-On Process Improvement
Actively identify opportunities to improve manual and semi-automated assembly processes.
Contribute ideas for mechanical fixtures, jigs, tooling, and simple automation solutions to enhance ergonomics, efficiency, and repeatability.
Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve cycle times.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Represent Manufacturing Engineering while working closely with Product Development to ensure designs are robust and manufacturable.
Build strong working relationships with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering peers to exchange information and solve problems.
Learning & Development
Receive guidance and mentoring from experienced manufacturing engineers.
Gradually take on increased responsibility, progressing from routine engineering tasks to project-based contributions over time.
Let’s Talk About Qualifications:
Required
Mechanical aptitude with bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
Preferred
Strong interest in hands-on manufacturing and shop-floor work.
Exposure to final product assembly environments (internships or projects).
Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
Familiarity with mechanical design concepts, fixtures, or automation ideas.
Interest or exposure to collaborative robotics, process validation, or data analytics.
Comfortable working in a regulated manufacturing or quality-focused environment.
