We are looking for a Global Procurement Manager to join our company. 

The role that will set direction for, drive and support procurement within the entire global organization. It will be part of developing and implementing the procurement strategy with long-term planning of global procurement activities. In addition, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, developing improved procurement practices, processes and templates etc.  Where required, support the business in various contract negotiations. The role is expected also to evolve and have a high degree of flexibility is required.

Supplying marine consumables, products, and solutions to every conceivable vessel type, our Marine Products division includes the Unitor brand of products, Timm ropes, Unicool refrigerants, and Unitor and Nalfleet marine chemicals. Last year we made product deliveries to 27,500 vessels, at over 2,000 ports.

Who you will report to:

The Global Procurement Manager reports to the Global Procurement Director and will work closely with the whole WSS’s network.

What you will be doing:  

  • Ensure understanding and implementation of, and compliance with, corporate governance throughout WSS’s procurement practices and organization

  • Evaluate and manage risks within the WSS supplier base and develop selection criteria

  • Negotiate strategically important agreements

  • Ensure the continuous monitoring, managing, and improving supplier performance including performing supplier audits

  • Improving processes, and working with stakeholders in developing system & analytics tools (Power BI, Business intelligence, templates etc)

  • Working with stakeholders and suppliers to reduce carbon footprint and support and fulfil WH’s sustainability goals.

  • Train the network in relevant topics

  • Support the organization in relevant procurement topics e.g. draft and review contracts, conduct Business reviews and audits, organizing strategic forum e.g. for suppliers, etc.

What we are looking for:    

  • Ability to act on initiative in a proactive manner 

  • Good interpersonal, influencing and networking skills with awareness of global cultural differences 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively within a multinational environment

  • Results and process driven, with a high level of responsibility 

  • Co-operating attitude being a team player that adapts to the team and builds team spirit, listens, consults and communicates proactively and upholds ethics and values

What you need to be successful in this role: 

  • Master’s degree or equivalent

  • Experience in developing and managing strategic procurement in international companies applying international standards

  • Extensive exposure to contract law and contract management

  • Strong international negotiation experience

  • Vision and strategic competence with strong analytical skills

  • Profit orientation, personal drive with ambition and strong desire to succeed

  • International experience and knowledge of the maritime industry

  • Excellent communication skills and a very good command of the English language
