The role of Procurement Manager is to oversee procurement requests across the SJ group, which extends to other regions on global level.

The core and priority focus of this role will be category management for group functions like IT, indirects which span across Finance and H&R areas of spend.  The category management remit includes end-to-end strategic sourcing and supplier lifecycle management. Experience or interest in additional procurement categories will be a valued asset.

In this position, the individual will collaborate with members of the cross-regional and functional teams to develop compelling procurement solutions that directly impact business performance. Ideal candidates should be able to communicate effectively with business units and establish constructive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

This role builds on a highly collaborative, analytical, creative and fast-paced environment. We are looking for a talent with strong analytical skills to optimize complex situations. He or she should be a self-motivated and result-driven person. Additionally, the candidate is expected to be a strong communicator and influencer, with the ability to cooperate concisely and effectively with multiple stakeholders to drive innovation and change.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Category Management: Develop and implement category strategies for key group commodities like professional services, IT, travel, indirects, ensuring alignment with business goals and operational requirements.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a trusted business partner and advisor to business units, fostering constructive relationships and a deep understanding of their needs.

  • Cross-Regional Coordination: Collaborate with global and regional partners to identify best practices, align strategies, and determine when initiatives should expand globally.

  • Vendor Sourcing and Management: Identify, onboard, and manage vendors to build a qualified supplier pool. Lead sourcing initiatives, including RFX, contract negotiation, and partnership management.

  • Procurement Operations: Manage end-to-end procurement processes, including contract execution, tracking project deliverables, and ensuring compliance with SJ group policies and standards.

  • Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and monitor supplier performance to ensure reliability, mitigate disruptions, and align with business goals.

About you: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.

  • 8 years’ experience in procurement within indirect categories.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Keen eye to detail and organizational skills,

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • High proficiency in S4Hana.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop category intelligence, analyze supply markets, and create data-driven procurement strategies.

  • Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, navigate ambiguity, and build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Communication Excellence: Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex customer needs into actionable procurement plans.

  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, processes, and best practices.
