How you succeed

Succeed by proactively managing collateral and funding risks within established frameworks. You will need to collaborate effectively with trading, sales, and technology teams. Focus on maintaining accuracy in our systems and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Anticipate potential funding pressures and propose solutions to optimise collateral usage and maintain stable funding profiles.

What you do

  • P&L generating role in Front Office

  • Assist the Senior Dealer in the day to day running of the desk, which includes the daily pricing and risk management of the Rates, Credit and Specials Repo portfolios

  • A self-starter with the ability and skillsets to undertake various initiatives related to the enablement of triparty platforms/custodians and external dealing platforms and solutions with the aim to scale up the repo and secured lending businesses 

  • Strong interest to build a career in the area of secured lending and collateral optimization

  • Ability to deal independently with Repo counterparties in the broker market and comfortable making 2 way markets promptly

  • Active risk management with the potential to eventually own an individual Repo portfolio

  • Responsive and client-focused to deliver not just accurate prices to clients but also to add value by suggesting alternative structures that would suit their interests better

  • Clear communicator with the ability to negotiate and motivate various internal and external stakeholders, working closely with Sales, Trading, Credit and Market Risk, Treasury Operations, Legal, IT, Compliance etc.

  • Scrutinizing and understanding legal documentations like new trading agreements, and regulatory documentations like UMR, SFTR, BASEL III etc.

  • Innovate and identify new revenue streams and cost savings by optimising and redeploying collateral across the firm

  • The opportunity to implement new ideas in an area that is undergoing significant progress and change within the industry (due to new regulations and increased relevance)

Requirements:

Skills and Experience:

  • Good Degree from a recognised institution (quantitative finance degrees are an advantage)
  • Some experience from working in a front office dealing environment would be ideal, preferably in repo, money market and/or fixed income products
  • Strong knowledge of coding/programming languages and the understanding of systems logic and process flow is an advantage
  • Strong risk management mindset with no prior limit breaches
  • Familiarity with legalese will allow the successful candidate to contribute actively on more bespoke products and processes
