Job DescriptionThe position’s purpose comprises the key objectives for the position, and functions that this position is responsible for on a day-to-day basis.
The main purpose of this position is to serve the needs of the business, our guests and our colleagues by leading all sales activities for the hotel, achieving revenue and profit targets, and growing and developing a loyal customer base on behalf of the hotel.

Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are to:
- Working with the Regional Director of Sales to provide sales and marketing services to all Minor Hotels properties within the assigned sales territory of Singapore & Malaysia.
- Provide a full area market intelligence service about the competition and the travel trade market and trends on a monthly basis.
- Submit and complete monthly sales activity plan.
- Solicit Segmentation of clientele adapted to the properties:MICE for corporate and incentive groups, and Key Corporate of Singapore and relevant airlines determined by Regional Director of Global.
- Carry on the sales in the assigned territory by providing contacts, list of prospects, office facilities and technical equipment as determined by Regional Director of Sales.
- Focus on assertively establishing new client contacts and developing detailed information on the potential revenues from these accounts for the portfolio of Minor Hotels.
- Participate in client familiarization trips, site inspections, sales trips and roadshows as required to meet the sales targets.
- Provide a monthly report about all sales activities and business trends.
- Handle sales events, exhibitions and sales trips upon budget plan for appointed market.
- Introduce and update key and select travel agents through join and sole sales calls.
- Co-host breakfasts, lunches and dinners with relevant trade partners to present MHG to key customers in appointed market.
- Arrange and propose educational site visits for travel agents, product managers, reservation staff, travel departments, tour operators and, incentive agencies.
- Handle all incoming inquiries from the trade, consumer, and media from designated territory.
- Ensure that all hotels are featured in all major websites and reservations systems throughout the region that are deemed appropriate for the brand, unless otherwise agreed by Minor International.
- Continually review the actual production of each account against the potential contracted.
- Ensure that the MHG brand is positioned within the marketplace.
- Maintain accurate management status reporting on business results, and associated action planning.
- Ensures an up-to-date knowledge on all MHG product and service offerings, including promotions. In addition, to be familiar with the products, services, rates new developments of our key competitors, and an awareness of general industry trends.
- Create and implement packages and promotions for periods of low occupancy.
- Drive opportunities to up sell and cross-sell Minor Hotels products and services.
- Maintain a full working knowledge of the IT support tools used in the world of sales today, including sales-specific software, property PMS, the Microsoft Office toolset
- Ensure that all administration work is processed quickly and efficiently.
- Experienced in Global Sales from Singapore and Malaysia Market for any Key Luxury Hotels Operator with at least 5 years experienced preferred.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Understands the market and its competitors both locally and internationally
- Be self-motivated, a strong team player and able to work and adapt under pressure
