Please note: This is not a Remote role and will require the incumbent to be based in Singapore and work a hybrid schedule. This is an Individual Contributor role.

Reporting to CPS automation director, this role is to provide technical expertise of factory automation solutions, and work with engineering functions, IT/OT team, PoF/digital delivery team and SAP team to ensure smooth delivery of global transformation use cases.

Being part of the automation COE team, this role will work closely with automation director and COE team members to evaluate different automation technologies, conduct pilots and develop roll out plan to all CPS sites. This role is expected to bring to the team the competence on Factory Automation System (FAS), Process Control System and Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Robotics and integration with warehouse/logistics automation solutions. In this role, the Automation manager will act as the liaise between multiple stakeholders like the Lighthouse Plants, CPS Transformation Team, CPS Engineering Team, IT, Technical and Supply Chain functions, Plant automation team members, vendors and consultants. 

What You’ll Do for Us 

  • Lead PMO process for key automation initiatives across CPS sites as defined in the rollout plan – project scoping, resources allocation, timelines, stakeholder management, KPIs and impacts, training and coaching for the local team, communication and project management routines.

  • In collaboration with SAP team, ITOT team and PoF team, to provide technical expertise of ERP integration and other OT applications to support global PoF use case development and deployment. 

  • Assess and evaluate new automation technologies, work with the lighthouses on proof-of-concept projects, build business case and quantify impact on productivity improvements, and draft technology playbooks as guideline for CPS sites to adopt and implement. 

  • Benchmark with industrial best practices and maintain automation guidelines for CPS, including but not limited to instrumentation, automation electrical safety standard, PLC, SCADA, Batch control, Energy monitoring system, building management system and other auxiliary automation solutions within the manufacturing environment. 

  • Work with global IT to develop guidelines and standards to manage OT cyber security activities and reduce potential OT cyber risks (eg, patching, disaster recovery, network design and firewall configuration, etc). 

Qualifications & Requirements: 

  • Degree in engineering, preferably Electrical or Electrical and Electronics Engineering. 

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in automation and digitalization within a manufacturing environment, including expertise in design, vendor management, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and project startups.

  • Experience in managing global projects and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools 

  • Should have detailed knowledge of PLC, SCADA system, IT and IOT platforms, Digital Manufacturing operations based on actual project experience. 

  • Should have detailed Knowledge of automation systems in the areas of PLC, SCADA, Batch control, Database and reporting, Historian, ERP integration, Equipment connectivity protocols, EMS, BMS, WMS, Robotics, Drives, Vision systems, Emerging technologies – IOT sensors, edge devices

  • Detail oriented, analytical, and creative thinker with passion to improve and digitize work processes.

  • Excellent project management, planning and organization skills and ability to work and deliver in changing environments while adhering to specified deadlines. 

  • Strong influencing, interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and get results in a matrixed organization.

Reporting Line: Sr. Director, Automation

Travel: Up to 50%

Key Skills:

Strong analytical and project management skills, in depth Knowledge of Instrumentation and Process Control Systems, Knowledge of Digital Manufacturing Operations, Project Management to manage quality in cost, scope and time, Analytical skills in problem solving, Strong Communication and networking. Good knowledge of SAP-Project systems, MS Project, PowerPoint
