Job Description

Group Wholesale Operations and Standardisation (GWOS) is responsible for the management and risk governance of the Technology and Operations (T&O) functions of the Overseas Branches (OB) with key focus on technology and operational risk management, compliance with regulatory requirements and Group policies.

Working closely with Group International Management (GIM), we support and uplift the OBs to ensure sustained growth.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategize and lead the standardization of T&O procedures and processes across the overseas branch network, balancing Group objectives with local regulatory and market requirements.

  • Oversee the implementation of Group Banking Operations Policy & risk management frameworks and ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and Group policies. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate operational and technology risks to protect the Group from potential losses and reputational harm.

  • Direct end-to-end delivery of technology and operational initiatives, including project planning, stakeholder alignment, architectural review, vendor management, and phased execution for OBs.

  • Conduct T&O peer reviews of overseas branches, focusing on management and operational risks, regulatory adherence, and compliance with Group policies and procedures.

  • Identify and address operations and technology risks in key processes; establish Group-level risk indicators and control standards to monitor and minimize exposure to fraud and losses.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Operations Managers in overseas branches for Operations related processes controls. 

  • Exercise oversight on the rollout of Group policies, procedures, products, and system implementations to overseas branches.

  • Lead gap analysis on new regulatory notices and internal policy changes; coordinate with relevant SMEs to address gaps and implement remediation plans, presenting updates in Group TRR.

  • Guide and support overseas branches in Group-driven initiatives such as Annual Obsolescence Review, Cybersecurity Desktop Exercises, and KRSCA reviews.

  • Establish clear engagement channels with Group Technology & Operations (GTO) in Head Office to ensure alignment with Group operations models and technology standards.

  • Strengthen T&O risk culture across overseas branches through regular stakeholder engagement, knowledge exchange, and early risk discussions.

  • Represent overseas branches at Group Committees and working groups (e.g., CTSC, ORMC) as required.

  •  Engage in internal, external, and regulatory audits of overseas branches, providing Group-level oversight on T&O-related audit findings, management responses, and action plans.
