Job Description

Role Overview 

We’re hiring a pragmatic full-stack engineer with strong experience in either Node.js (TypeScript) or Java (Spring Boot). You’ll build scalable backends, clean APIs, and quality UIs—while using AI tools daily to speed up design, coding, testing, docs, and ops. Language-flexible mindset is important: you’re happy to pick up other languages and stacks when it helps the product. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Design and ship backend services in Node.js (TS) or Java (Spring Boot); craft REST/GraphQL APIs. 

  • Build responsive frontends (preferably React/Next.js) integrated with those APIs. 

  • Model data in PostgreSQL/MySQL, use Redis for caching; write efficient queries/migrations. 

  • Build async/event flows with Kafka/RabbitMQ when appropriate. 

  • Own CI/CD, containerization (Docker) and cloud deploys (AWS/GCP/Azure); IaC with Terraform or similar. 

  • Add observability (logs, metrics, traces) with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana. 

  • Bake in security (OAuth2/OIDC/JWT, IAM, secrets, dependency health). 

  • Write robust tests (unit/integration/e2e) with Jest, JUnit and RestAssured. 

  • Leverage AI to generate/refactor code, write tests, draft docs, analyze logs, and accelerate incident response. 

  • Participate in design reviews, break work into clear stories, and mentor peers on AI-assisted workflows. 

Required Skills & Experience 

  • 1-5 years of professional engineering (or equivalent impact). 

  • Production experience in one of: 

  • Node.js (TypeScript), frameworks like Express/Fastify; or 

  • Java (Spring/Spring Boot). 

  • Strong API design, domain modeling, performance tuning. 

  • Solid frontend skills with React (or Angular/Vue) and modern tooling. 

  • Proficient with SQL/NoSQL, caching, and async processing. 

  • Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD (GitHub Actions/GitLab/Jenkins) and cloud deployments. 

  • Excellent debugging and incident skills; clear written communication. 

  • Curiosity to learn new languages/frameworks as needed. 

AI & Automation Expectations 

  • Daily user of GitHub Copilot (or similar) and effective prompting patterns. 

  • Bonus: hands-on with LLM APIs (OpenAI/Azure/open-source), LangChain/LlamaIndex, RAG, and vector stores (PGVector/Pinecone/Weaviate). 

  • Understand data privacy/PII handling, usage governance, and prompt safety. 

  • Habit of measuring AI impact (lead time, MTTR, coverage, defect rate).
