Job Description

We’re looking for a Product Compliance and Risk Manager with a sub-specialisation in financial crime to join our APAC Wise Platform team. This is a critical role designed to strengthen our Wise Platform product foundations and scale our products across APAC. While your core focus is financial crime, you will also handle broader regulatory risks to ensure APAC Wise Platform remains a resilient, audit-ready framework. 

This is a first line Product Compliance role, embedded in the APAC and Wise Platform Squad. Your scope will include:

Proactive gap analysis and remediation:

  • Bridge the gap: Use your deep understanding of Wise Platform products and local APAC regulations to help identify potential financial crime risks to avoid regulatory breaches and incidents;

  • Root cause remediation: When gaps are identified, whether through your own analysis or evolving regulatory requirements, you will lead end-to-end remediation to solve for the root cause, ensuring we meet both internal standards and external expectations. 

  • Strategic resilience: Collaborate with second-line Compliance and Risk teams to prioritise the most significant risks to the APAC Wise Platform business. You’ll translate regulatory reforms into actional product requirements. 

Creating and improving our amazing products in a compliant way: 

  • Design for scale: Work side-by-side with Product teams during the implementation of new products and features to ensure our compliance controls are working as intended. 

  • Commercial enablement: Unblock our Commercial teams by applying a pragmatic, risk-based approach to partner solutions to support business objectives.

Regional localisation and global alignment: 

  • Smart localisation: Assess how global identified risks and controls land in APAC. You’ll ensure that local nuances are captured in global frameworks and regional product risk assessments.

  • Global voice: Act as the primary advocate for APAC Wise Platform Product Compliance within global teams, ensuring regional risks are visible and addressed at the global level. 

Qualifications

Must have: 

  • Extensive experience in regulatory assurance or financial crime compliance within a financial technology company; added bonus if focused on correspondent banking, remittance, financial services partnerships across APAC markets. 

  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex regulatory frameworks and apply them effectively.

  • Problem solving attitude, with the ability to use regulation together with data to drive business decisions.

  • A natural owner that drives and delivers projects to completion proactively, timely and with attention to the details.

Nice to have:

  • A team player with a collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively with different stakeholders such as Product, Commercial teams and Compliance.

  • Ability to effectively and clearly communicate and provide practical, actionable, and value added recommendations.
