Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the CFO, this leadership role is responsible for financial reporting, regulatory reporting, financial accounting, financial control, vendor payments and tax outcome for GXS 

  • Own and be accountable for accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness and efficiency of all processes related to financial controllership for GXS 

  • Ensure Bank’s compliance with company policies, applicable accounting standards, regulatory reporting requirements and tax filings

  • Ensure that financial statements are prepared timely and accurately with new initiatives are correctly accounted for

  • Face-off to auditors, audit committee, shareholders and management committee on key financial matters

  • Develop, maintain and revise policies, procedures, systems, processes and internal controls  to ensure that proper governance are practiced and upheld relating to reporting and controls

  • Project manage and implement various company-wide strategic initiatives as well as Finance internal projects. Think through the implications to various finance teams and drive all the work streams to complete deliverables in line with commitments

  • Be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, be organized and process effective and have strong interpersonal skills to successfully partner & drive cross functional outcomes

  • Have proven experience leading & mentoring high-performance teams (onshore and offshore) on day-to-day operations and key metrics while guiding them towards the strategic direction and objectives of the wider company

  • Identify opportunities to eliminate and automate where possible – make finance and related processes are simple and effective as possible (Keeping internal customer in mind)

Requirements:

  • Min. of 15 years of relevant experience working in the banking industry. 

  • Qualified accountant (CA/CPA/ACCA) or other professional accounting accreditation

  • Experience with IFRS / SFRS / SOX

  • Integrity and firm in ensuring compliance of policies and internal controls.

  • Able to lead, guide and motivate a team to meet corporate goals and objectives.

  • A natural leader who displays integrity, humility and responsibility, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both within and across business units.

  • Well-developed communication skills to interact with broad ranges of audiences

  • A self-starter and independent learner who takes the initiative to challenge the status quo and is comfortable with ‘blank sheet of paper’ assignments

  • A big-picture thinker who is detail-oriented

  • Ambitious, self-driven and highly motivated individual who can work well in a startup VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) environment. Should have a deep desire to excel and develop a career in a fast growing company.
