Finance Analyst - SPG Singapore Lab Operations

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and results driven finance analyst to join SPG Asia finance team.  This role collaborates with Lab operations teams across several Labs in Singapore as well as with BU leaders and finance partners.  The candidate will work independently to support growing Lab operations and investments in the region as a key business partner.

Location:  Singapore

Major Responsibilities

  • Develop business partnership with the operations team and help drive accountability and attainment of key performance metrics for lab spending and utilization
  • Assist BU operations in development of quarterly and annual forecasting cycles for HC, Expense, Capex, building bridges, and providing business contextual commentary.
  • Own monthly/Qtrly close activities including journal entries, accruals, reporting to BUs
  • Perform variance analysis, identifying key drivers of financial performance and proposing recommendation to management and business partners.
  • Communicate allocation charges to internal customer for lab bay occupancy
  • Assist with analysis on capital projects for various Labs
  • Monitor and control expenses within allotted project budget. Work with finance team in maintaining project accounting, budgeting and capital planning systems

Qualifications & Preferences:

  • Ability to function as an effective and respected partner to internal clients
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks while still delivering high quality results
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills and ability to handle data effectively
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project administration skills
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation of data
  • Strong understanding of accounting/financial principles and regulations/legal requirements

Experience

  • 3-5 years of corporate finance experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting/finance
