The Field Engineer supports, maintains, and troubleshoots clean energy systems, providing technical support and training while ensuring optimal product performance.
Role Overview:
Role Overview: Ampd Energy is looking for a Field Engineer to join our Service team and play a critical role in supporting and maintaining our clean energy technology across Singapore. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, coordinating repairs, and ensuring our systems perform at their best in the field. You’ll be based remotely in Singapore and report to our Manager, Service Engineering (based in Hong Kong). This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, enjoys working autonomously within a team environment, and enjoys being on the front lines of clean energy innovation.
A day in the life:
You kick off your morning with a few calls and meetings (some with customers, others with internal teams) to align on priorities and resolve any open issues. A couple of times a week, you're out on-site, getting hands-on with equipment and supporting our partners directly. Between visits, you're remotely diagnosing and troubleshooting problems, keeping our systems running smoothly. You might spend part of the afternoon organizing spare parts in the warehouse or building out a troubleshooting guide to help other technicians work more efficiently. You're the face of Ampd in the field - solving problems, staying hands-on, and keeping things running smoothly.
What You’ll Do:
- Support: Provide remote and sometimes local expert technical support to customers, solving challenges and ensuring seamless product performance.
- Deploy: Install and commission products on customer sites
- Train: Teach our distributors and contractors how to service and use our products
- Troubleshoot: Be an excellent problem solver to diagnose and root cause issues.
- Document: Create/write up test reports, service reports, new knowledge base articles, and ticketing to organize issues.
- Analyze: Help collect and analyze data regarding the product reliability, usability, and performance.
- Innovate: Provide invaluable feedback to our engineering and sales team to improve our future products.
Who You Are:
- Hands-on Experience: Relevant experience working physically around high-power equipment. Proficient with electronic equipment, power tools, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Educated: Trained as an Electrical Technician and/or Electrician, preferably with renewable energy systems
- Licensed: Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle (we provide a vehicle allowance and reimbursement for mileage).
- Technical: Strong understanding of electrical inspection, testing procedures, and relevant regulations. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and manuals.
- Independent & Collaborative: Effective working both independently and as part of a team.
- Fluent in written and spoken English; Cantonese and Mandarin are a plus.
- A plus to have unrestricted/restricted electrical license
