As a leader in OCBC’s HR department, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s talent agenda. You will spearhead the strategic vision and execution of talent management initiatives across the organization, ensuring the attraction, development, and retention of top talent to drive the bank’s growth and strategic objectives. In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior leaders to cultivate a high-performance culture through innovative talent strategies, leadership development, succession planning, and talent engagement programs.
How you succeed
To succeed in this role, you must strategically align talent management initiatives with the bank’s business goals and culture, driving measurable improvements in leadership capability, successor readiness, engagement, and retention of key talent. Your ability to build strong partnerships with senior leaders and HR teams will be essential in accurately identifying talent needs and delivering innovative development programs that position the organization for sustainable growth. Success will also depend on your data-driven approach to talent analytics, enabling informed decision-making and continuous enhancement of talent strategies. Additionally, you will serve as a change agent, effectively leading the adoption and integration of new frameworks and tools across the organization.
What you do
- Refresh and implement a comprehensive talent management framework and strategies aligned with the bank’s business goals and culture.
- Develop leadership development programs with external partners to groom identified talents and successors for future roles.
- Oversee the annual talent review cycle and activities, including succession planning processes to ensure leadership continuity and bench strength in critical roles.
- Utilize data analytics and talent metrics to assess program effectiveness and inform decision-making.
- Work alongside the Group and regional talent management teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Partner with HR business partners to identify talent needs and create targeted development plans, and with external vendors to deliver best-in-class talent solutions.
- Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives within talent management practices.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in talent management and banking sector workforce dynamics.
Key deliverables
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year talent management strategy aligned with the bank’s business objectives and culture.
- Design, launch, and scale leadership development programs targeting high-potential employees and existing leaders to strengthen leadership bench strength and readiness.
- Establish and maintain a robust succession planning framework ensuring critical roles have identified successors with actionable development plans.
- Lead the successful implementation and adoption of the talent management module (processes and tools) within Workday or other systems.
- Maintain talent analytics dashboards to track key metrics such as turnover, internal mobility, and leadership pipeline health, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Build and contribute to the a high-performing talent management team that meets or exceeds annual goals and project deliverables.
- Partner with HR business partners, business unit leaders, and external vendors to deliver integrated talent solutions and support organizational transformation.
- Continuously review, refine, and enhance the talent management framework, processes, and tools to drive business outcomes and improve employee experience.
Who you work with
- Project Ascent team: The Project Ascent team is responsible for implementing the bank's HR technology platform, Workday. They will work closely with you to design, prototype, test and implement the talent management tools and process.
- Group Human Resources: Group Human Resources is at the forefront of our ongoing business transformation. This role will work particularly closely with the HRBPs, Performance Management and the Learning & Transformation teams.
- Senior Stakeholders: These include senior leaders in OCBC, who will act as sponsors and key stakeholder of several TM initiatives.
Who you are
- Minimum 15 years of experience in HR, with a focus on roles in talent management, organizational development, and/or Human Resource Business Partnering.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of talent management principles and contemporary practices.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and provide insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders across the bank.
- Strategic thinking, with the ability to develop and implement talent management strategies that align with the bank's business objectives.
- Change management skills, with the ability to drive adoption and transition to evolving talent framework and tools.
