Job DescriptionOverview:
The Execution Executive (Senior) will be responsible for managing end-to-end trade execution activities for the assigned commodity platform. This includes coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely execution of contracts and shipments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and issue contracts post-trade validation, and liaise with the trading desk to resolve any discrepancies.
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to manage shipments in line with contractual terms. This includes:
- Freight bookings and vessel tracking
- Reviewing shipment plans
- Sending vessel nominations and shipping instructions
- Appointing surveyors for loading/discharge
- Handling letters of credit
- Managing shipment tenders
- Preparing and negotiating shipping documents to ensure timely and accurate settlements
- Maintain accurate and timely data entry in the trading system, ensuring contract execution status is up to date.
- Manage demurrage and insurance claims related to assigned shipments.
- Monitor and close aging files, including laytime and other receivables/accruals.
- Provide proactive support to the business by identifying risks, proposing mitigation strategies, and delivering practical solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department manager or supervisor.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a commodity trading environment.
- Solid understanding of Incoterms, UCP/ISBP rules, GAFTA, and Charter Party terms.
- Knowledge of vessel laytime calculation is preferred but not mandatory.
Other Skills:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure effectively.
- Strong multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and offer solutions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Fluency in Mandarin would be an advantage, due to liaison with Mandarin-speaking buyers
Qualifications
Minimum diploma required in Maritime Studies or relevant field of study
