The Group
The ESG and Climate Consultants group sits within the commercial pillar at Morningstar Sustainalytics and focuses on enabling commercial success by providing subject matter expertise across ESG Risk, Climate, Impact, Stewardship areas as well as emerging topics.
The individuals in this group are responsible for designing and presenting a recommended Sustainalytics and Morningstar solution which meets a clien'ts ESG and Climate Objectives.
The Role
This role will lead on the ESG and Climate Consultants mandate in APAC, and work as part of a global team with colleagues in Europe and the US.
This position will partner with Sales, Product, Technology and Strategic Partnerships teams to ensure that Sustainalytics Morningstar's solutions are designed effectively combining Morningstar Sustainalytics capabilities in a scalable and sustainable way to meet our clients' ESG and climate objectives.
Your clear understanding of Sustainalytics' research, our clients and their business drivers will be key to success.
Responsibilities
To support and consult the sales team to be successful, by defining the business value of Morningstar Sustainalytics' solutions through tasks including the following:
Operational walkthroughs / Discovery

  • Present Sustainalytics' understanding of the client needs and any challenges they are facing
  • Design, create and present a recommended Morningstar Sustainalytics solution which meets the client's needs while being innovative, scalable and sustainable
  • Work with the Sales, Advisory and CST teams to design and structure potential opportunities which leverage multiple Morningstar Sustainalytics products or services
  • Ensures solution is consistent with Morningstar Sustainalytics product and client strategy


Key responsibilities

  • Implement and develop autonomously and effectively APAC opportunities assigned to you
  • Provide well-informed and comprehensive solutions to clients
  • Provide subject matter expertise in pre-sales, up-sell activities and churn mitigation
  • Leads the personalization of Morningstar Sustainalytics story and value proposition as needed for specific personas and/or market segments
  • Demonstrates strong capabilities in client engagement within their core market
  • Assist with RFI/RFP
  • Collect and translate market needs into product ideas to present to the Product Management team
  • Personalize Morningstar Sustainalytics story and value proposition as needed for specific personas and/or market segments
  • Consult the sales team qualifying leads by using your industry knowledge and deep understanding of Morningstar Sustainalytics capabilities
  • Develop a sophisticated understanding of client use cases and future needs, along with market expertise, to provide critical insights to support our innovation agenda.
  • Ensure the success of client objectives and Sustainalytics internal strategic priorities through collaboration with internal teams.


Requirements

  • Extensive experience in a client facing role with strong customer service focus
  • At least 8-year working experience in sustainable finance industry
  • Excellent writing, communication, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • A friendly professional demeanor and ability to excel in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Experience in working with asset managers, wealth managers, asset owners or investment banks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial services and ESG.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, communication and presentation skills.
  • Track record of leading strategic projects with successful outcomes.
  • Analytical skills, strong attention to detail and drive to improve.
  • Alignment with Sustainalytics' mission, vision and values.
  • A bachelor's degree is required. MBA or CFA is a plus
