Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform functional testing and commissioning of new and modernized lifts (elevators) according to project requirements and manufacturer specifications.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine tests on lift systems to verify performance, safety features, and compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., SS 550, EN 81).
  • Troubleshoot and identify faults or performance issues in coordination with project engineers and technicians.
  • Complete detailed test reports, checklists, and commissioning documentation for submission to consultants or authorities.
  • Ensure all lifts meet the requirements of BCA, TÜV SÜD PSB, and/or other relevant regulatory bodies prior to handover.
  • Support in-site inspections and audits conducted by authorities or consultants.
  • Verify the correct operation of lift components such as brakes, door locking systems, overload devices, limit switches, buffers, and safety gear.
  • Ensure all testing tools and equipment are properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Collaborate with installation and repair teams to resolve defects and prepare the lift for final approval.
  • Comply with safety protocols and site regulations at all times.

Requirements:

  • Education: Diploma or ITE certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of relevant working experience in lift testing or commissioning preferred.
  • Certifications: Registered Lift Tester with BCA (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical knowledge of lift systems and control panels.
    • Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
    • Attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting skills.
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Willingness to work on-site and travel between project locations.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily conducted on-site at various project locations.
  • May require working at heights, confined spaces, or outside standard office hours.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety training will be provided.
