The EHS Specialist manages environmental health and safety teams, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting training, and coordinating safety programs within manufacturing facilities.

Primary Function:
- Manages the Environmental, Health and Safety team for single or multiple facilities.
- Oversees the development , planning and implementation of environmental ,occupational health and safety policies and procedures within the company.
- Ensures compliance with local regulations pertaining to environmental ,occupational health and safety, including OSHA, and handles all contact with appropriate agencies.
- Develops, implements and monitors company environmental, occupational health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with local environmental, health, and safety regulations (including OSHA).
- Conducts training in emergency response, hazardous material handling, industrial hygiene, life safety and ergonomic compliance regulated activities.
- Recommends corrective action / preventive action where environmental, health and safety hazards exist.
- Coordinates and provides team member-related environmental and safety programs.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide co-ordination to the organization, maintaining EHS & Security focus, ensuring best practices are in place.
- Maintain the highest standards of environment health and safety control ensuring compliance with all Abbott policies and procedures and meeting all local statutory requirements.
- Develop and implement programs to meet current plant objectives and to meet future requirements ensuring achievement of the plant operations.
- Interface with Site Management, particularly in the areas of EHS Excellence and participate as a supportive member to the organization.
- Maintain a positive working environment through effective communication and respect for all employees.

- Any other duties as directed by supervisor.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety/ Environmental Science/ Engineering or related discipline or Diploma with minimum 3 to 5 years of experience
- Min 3 years of relevant experience in an EHS role in a large-scale manufacturing plant
- Workplace Safety & Health Officer registration preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly with employees at all levels.
- Ability to work effectively with plant-wide teams to drive strong safety culture and environmental awareness in all employees.
