Purpose of the Role

 

Drive the regional focus of MUFG’s Transaction Banking Asia Pacific (TBOA) engagement of Trade Finance products with Financial Institutions. The Product suite will involve both: primary market activity, Trade Loans and Guarantee Re-Issuance, and secondary market distribution of financial institution and corporate assets. This is an integral role within TBOA with an emphasis on distribution (Originate to Distribute) and the Financial Institutions client base. The individual is expected to have a track-record and ability to significantly expand the commercialisation of the product suite.

 

In addition to the external engagement with Financial Institutions, the role requires a significant interaction with MUFG’s FI RMs across the region to ensure there are robust account plans for all priority clients with opportunities identified and captured. Also provide TB Corporate Sales’ colleagues with insights and updates on market distribution and pricing levels. Other internal stakeholders include working with the Trade Product team to ensure that the product suite is aligned with the changing dynamics.

 

You will report to the Head of Transaction Banking Sales for Global Corporates, Asia Pacific.    

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

·         Define and articulate TFFI’s strategy to align and optimize with Transaction Banking’s regional and global objectives.

·         Collaborate with FI RMs to ensure that the account planning process for key Clients identifies the specific Client opportunities.

·         Raise MUFG’s profile within the distribution market to expand and deepen relationships with the range of risk participants (Banks, Insurance Companies, Multi-Laterals etc.).  Build / deepen relationships with key Clients.

·         Ensure that the distribution product suite evolves with the market opportunities.

·         Share market insights with global TFFI peers, Transaction Banking Sales colleagues, and the FI Team.

·         Drive operational efficiencies to shorten the time to market. 

·         Highlight risks (credit, market and operational) and changing market opportunities that will impact performance.

·         Widen the product suite to provide a diversification of the revenue source.

·         Represent MUFG at Industry forums on Trade Distribution.

·         Create solid relationships with key stakeholders including FI RMs, Credit, Operations.

·         Responsible for managing (objective setting & performance management), developing (coaching) and rewarding (financial and non-financial reward decisions) for Direct Reports.

 

Job Requirements

·         Minimum degree qualification

·         Minimum 8 years of experience working in Trade Finance products including Guarantee reissuance, LC based structures and trade loans (BA financing, import refinance and reimbursement finance) 

·         Minimum 10 years distribution experience within banking and finance industry, Including distribution of documentary trade, trade loans and corporate assets (account receivables purchase schemes and payables finance)

·         Experience working with risk distribution /mitigation tools, the BAFT MRPA and credit insurance

·         Existing market relationships with key Investor base

·         Strong networking and influencing skills

·         Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment across Asia Pacific
