Alation is expanding in Asia and seeking a Director of Sales based in Singapore to lead a sales team in a rapidly growing market. The Director of Sales of the ASEAN Region provides leadership responsibility for a defined territory within Asia, reporting to the Vice President, Sales in APAC.
The role is based in Singapore and the candidate must be authorised to work in the country.
What You’ll Do
Own and deliver revenue targets for a defined territory within Asia through effective team leadership.
Manage, coach, and develop a team of Account Executives, providing deal guidance and oversight.
Execute the business plan, with an emphasis on developing and maintaining strong business relationships at the executive level within this geography, driving individual performance across the group and ensuring the team operates cohesively.
Identify new business and revenue opportunities as well as opportunities for expansion within existing accounts.
Execute the regional sales plan with a strong emphasis on pipeline generation, deal progression, and forecast accuracy.
Identify new market opportunities and provide feedback to leadership on regional trends and customer needs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customer executives and key stakeholders.
Develop plans for target markets, including tactics for penetration into new accounts and cross-selling to existing customers.
Develop and execute territory and account plans to increase pipeline coverage and win rates.
Support local field marketing initiatives, events, and partner activities.
Partner closely with Sales Development, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success to support regional growth.
Conduct regular pipeline reviews, deal strategy sessions, forecasting, and performance check-ins to drive accountability and execution.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
8–12 years of experience in enterprise software sales, preferably in data, analytics, SaaS, or cloud technologies.
3 + years of people management experience leading enterprise sales teams.
Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Experience selling complex, value-based solutions to enterprise customers.
Strong understanding of the Asian market and enterprise buying processes.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and scale high-performing enterprise sales teams with a strong focus on execution and accountability.
Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and deal management capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional Asian languages are a plus.
