Ichor Systems has an immediate opening a Director of Procurement, Asia that can be based in either Singapore or Shah Alam, Malaysia.  Reporting to the VP of Global Supply Chain, the Asia Director is accountable for executing regional procurement operations that support high-volume, high-precision manufacturing of liquid and gas flow control components and assemblies for semiconductor applications. The role ensures clear-to-build readiness, continuity of supply, delivery performance, cost control, and supplier scalability across Asia-based manufacturing sites.

This position serves as a primary customer-facing procurement leader, responsible for translating material readiness, supplier constraints, and recovery actions into clear, credible, and aligned customer communication.

The Director of Procurement is critical to ensuring Asia manufacturing execution keeps pace with customer demand growth, increased volatility, and heightened customer expectations for delivery credibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Regional Procurement Leadership

  • Lead procurement execution for Asia-based manufacturing operations across multiple countries and sites.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing regional procurement organization, including buyers, procurement managers, and shared services interfaces.
  • Serve as the senior procurement partner to regional Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Program teams.
  • Establish standard work, operating cadence, and escalation mechanisms for procurement execution and CTB alignment.

Customer Interface & Clear-to-Build Ownership

  • Serve as a primary procurement interface to customers on material readiness, delivery risks, and recovery actions.
  • Own Clear-to-Build (CTB) execution for the region, ensuring a single, aligned view of material availability, constraints, and readiness to support build plans.
  • Translate supplier constraints, capacity limitations, and lead-time realities into fact-based, externally credible customer communication.
  • Partner with Customer SCM, Program Management, and Operations to ensure consistent messaging and containment of customer escalations.
  • Lead regional response to CTB misalignments, including root cause definition, corrective action planning, and recovery execution.
  • Ensure early visibility of supply chain risks to customers, with clear mitigation plans and ownership.

Supplier Performance & Execution Management

  • Own supplier delivery performance, capacity commitments, and responsiveness for production and ramp requirements.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships at the execution level to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and commercial commitments.
  • Lead supplier performance reviews, corrective action plans, and recovery actions for at-risk suppliers.
  • Execute and operationalize dual-source and resiliency strategies defined by global commodity and category teams, providing regional feasibility, timing, and risk feedback.

Cost, Quality & Delivery Excellence

  • Execute year-over-year cost improvement through negotiations, commercial optimization, and regional execution of global agreements, while protecting supply continuity, capacity access, and customer commitments.
  • Ensure suppliers meet semiconductor-grade requirements for quality, cleanliness, traceability, and process discipline.
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering on supplier audits, PPAPs, ECO execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure procurement readiness for production ramps, customer demand volatility, and technology transitions.

Supply Chain Risk, Resilience & Escalation Management

  • Proactively identify and mitigate regional supply risks related to capacity, logistics, geopolitical exposure, and single-source dependencies.
  • Lead regional escalation management during supply disruptions, including containment, customer communication, and recovery tracking.
  • Support NPI and factory expansions with early supplier capacity validation and execution readiness.
  • Align procurement actions with customer resiliency requirements (ISA, POLTR, liability protections).

Systems, Data Integrity & CTB Enablement

  • Own procurement execution accuracy within ERP systems (item master, source rules, pricing, blanket POs, lead times).
  • Ensure data integrity to support CTB, MRP signals, supplier commitments, and customer-facing readiness views.
  • Drive standard CTB reporting and dashboards in partnership with analytics and planning teams.
  • Partner with global teams on Oracle enhancements that improve CTB visibility and procurement execution.

Cross-Functional & Global Alignment

  • Execute global commodity strategies within the Asia region, providing feedback on supplier performance, capacity, and execution risks.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain peers and Engineering on design-for-supply, localization, and manufacturability initiatives.
  • Support manufacturing footprint and make/buy decisions with regional execution insights.
  • Provide regular executive-level reporting on CTB health, supplier performance, cost, and risk.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive procurement or supply chain leadership experience, with significant responsibility in Asia.
  • Strong experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing or adjacent high-precision industries (semiconductor equipment, gas delivery, vacuum systems, precision machining).
  • Demonstrated expertise managing customer-facing supply chain execution and CTB in high-mix, high-volatility environments.
  • Proven success leading supplier performance, escalations, and recovery in multi-country supply networks.
  • Strong executive communication skills with both internal leadership and external customers.
  • Experience leading teams across cultures and geographies.
