The Global Procurement - Data & Analytics Director serves as a strategic bridge between the Procurement and MDS functions. This role is accountable for ensuring that Procurement has access to the right data, tools, and insights required to make informed, value-driven sourcing decisions. This role acts as the voice of the Procurement function, influencing the design, prioritization, and adoption of analytics products and data assets.
This position is a key enabler of Procurement Digital Transformation - ensuring data is governed, accessible, and usable for spend analysis, performance management, risk visibility, and strategic sourcing.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Business Partnership & Product Enablement
- Act as the primary liaison between Procurement and MDS for all data and analytics needs.
- Oversee analytical products used by Procurement, ensuring they meet business needs and are continuously improved.
- Lead the intake, assessment, and formalization of new analytics requests, including:
- Evaluation of business impact and feasibility
- Development of functional documentation
- Sign-off and prioritization for IT development
- Collaborate with Procurement Process Team and MDS product owners to translate Procurement use cases into clear, user-focused requirements.
2. Procurement Data Governance
- Lead data governance activities for Procurement, including data quality standards, taxonomy alignment (e.g., categories, suppliers), and master data policies.
- Define and enforce ownership and maintenance models for Procurement-related data domains.
- Define and implement automated data check tools to support procurement with increasing data quality.
- Define Critical data elements for Procurement data
3. Cross-Functional Advanced Analytics Initiatives
- Participate as a functional expert in enterprise projects building advanced analytical products (e.g., cost forecasting (cost-modeling), benchmarking, BOM-to-brand connection, bill of material, commodity risk management).
- Provide business logic, user stories, and operational context to ensure solutions meet real-world Procurement use cases.
- Collaborate with data science, product, and analytics teams to validate outputs and shape models - without owning development responsibilities.
