DIRECTOR, COMPLIANCE OPERATIONS

JOB DESCRIPTION

The overarching goal of compliance operations is to enable a culture of ethics and compliance across the enterprise by supporting compliance with legal, regulatory and policy requirements, remaining abreast of emerging trends and evolving our compliance operations.

 

The Director, Global Compliance Operations will report to the AVP, Compliance Operations and be a key member of the Global Compliance Operations team. This experienced professional will provide compliance operations expertise and guidance to various stakeholders and business teams to facilitate compliance with laws, regulatory requirement and internal policies and procedures. This experienced professional will lead cross-functional projects [Pulse, Compliance Monitoring Program].

 

Primary Responsibilities:

A. Team Leader

· Strong track record of leading people as a people manager

· Effective leadership; people and project management experience; experience with simplifying streamlining, consolidating, standardizing, and eventually automating (AI) processes

· Consul with business leaders to create innovative solutions which help our Company distinguish itself in the market. 

· Provide insights into trends in compliance operations to enable informed decisions about managing compliance risks.

· Understand the evolving digital technology landscape and partnering to develop strategies to enable innovative digital technologies and apply to day job

 

B. Manage Pulse program (Pulse is a monitoring tool alerting management proactively for critical compliance risks and supporting timely remediation)

· Responsible for designing enhance data analytics; navigating through big data; connecting the dots from different data sets; building data visualizations for easy identification of patterns, trends, outliers in a large data set; responsibilities to interpret the results; drive meaningful conclusions; provide valuable recommendations to the business leaders across functions with the aim to protect the company and its effective compliance monitoring program. (Power BI, etc.)

· Partner with business leaders across the local markets and process owners; BT organization

 

C. Compliance Monitoring Program – coordinate cross-functionally the execution of the program

· Promote a corporate culture that fosters ethical and compliant behavior and providing the basis to ensure adequate internal controls and compliance with all laws and regulatory requirements.

· Demonstrate sound judgment, decision making, business acumen, and ability to set clear strategies with successful implementation. 

· innovative, results oriented, and decisive when faced with complex issues. (mixing skills with responsibilities here)

 

D. China market expertise

· Experience on China market; understanding the healthcare compliance specifics in China

· Fluency in communication with China team, proactively monitor, provide insights, consult the business leaders for critical compliance risks, support timely remediation

 

Education Minimum Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

· Master’s or comparable degree in relevant field, preferably in law, risk management or corporate compliance

· Compliance Certifications (Licensed Professional in Ethics) are preferred.

 

Preferred Experience and Skills:

· 7+ years of significant data analytics global experience and exposure, consulting business, relevant global compliance experience

· Experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or biotech industries preferred, but not required.

· Deep understanding of global compliance laws and regulations, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), US Anti-Kickback Statute and US Federal and State transparency reporting requirements.

· Demonstrated knowledge of compliance risks, operations, systems, tools, and processes, including third party due diligence; denied party screening; sampling and transparency reporting.

· Abilities to elaborate the impact of identified patterns, trends, outliers and abilities to recommend valuable enhancements and support timely remediation

· Chinese language

· Experience in developing and implementing systems and processes to drive compliance and simplify compliance operations.

· Thinking outside of the box mindset and self-starting attitude.

· Ability to adapt to an evolving business and compliance landscape.

· Strong ability to influence across functional groups and business franchises to gain cooperation and alignment on operational issues and objectives.

· Clear, effective communication style and interpersonal skills.

· Effective listening, judgment, problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills.

· Demonstrated ethical mindset and integrity; ability exercise sound judgment and to demonstrate courage and candor.
