Co-Development Business Unit is looking for DevOps Engineer

Internal Code: A25126

This is a fixed term contract role. The engagement is 12 months

• Execute the Application Development Modernisation initiative to promulgate and hasten the adoption of modern application delivery practices (e.g. CI/CD, DevSecOps, "Shift Left" security test, SRE, Observability…) to improve overall quality, security and speed of application delivery in a heavily outsourced application development context.
• Design and implement SRE practices including establishing SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and reliability frameworks to enhance system resilience and operational excellence across government applications.
• Develop comprehensive observability strategies incorporating metrics, traces, and logs, whilst utilizing modern tooling for enhanced system visibility and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Establish and maintain observability best practices, playbooks and templates, including distributed tracing implementation, and metrics collection across applications.
• Design monitoring, automated alerts and dashboards to provide real-time insights into application health and performance.

What are we looking for?

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines
• Minimum 1 year experience with CI/CD
• Hands-on experience with enterprise observability platforms, preferably ELK Stack or Dynatrace. Familiarity with other monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana would be beneficial.
• Hands-on experience with distributed tracing systems (e.g., AWS X-Ray) and log aggregation tools
• Experience defining and implementing SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
• Experience in designing and implementing alerting strategies and dashboard creation
• Experience with real user monitoring (RUM) and synthetic monitoring implementation
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Result and customer oriented with multi-tasking capabilities
• Excellent written, verbal communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Experience conducting post-mortem analysis and implementing reliability improvements
• Experience with Singapore Government Tech Stack SHIP-HATS
• Experience in public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Powershell
• Experience with containerised platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Experience in infrastructure automation using Ansible and/or AWS Systems Manager
