Position Responsibilities:
- Deliver machine learning and AI solutions across the insurance value chain, enabling scalable and impactful analytics capabilities.
- Oversee campaign effectiveness and model performance across multiple markets, ensuring continuous improvement and sharing of best practices regionally.
- Track and report AI project benefits, identifying opportunities to optimize outcomes and drive new business initiatives.
- Support analytics data strategy, including data optimization and monetization using internal data, identifying external data sources to enrich the enterprise data ecosystem, and contributing to data governance efforts.
- Lead the development of advanced predictive and prescriptive models and other analytical solutions for Asia markets to support profitable business growth.
- Collaborate with global and regional teams to establish standardized modeling frameworks, governance processes, and shared modeling solutions; ensure compliance with AI Center of Excellence standards.
- Maintain a regional/global model repository to document, monitor, and conduct dynamic diagnostics on models in production.
- Provide expert guidance to in-country analytics teams on advanced quantitative analysis and modeling techniques, ensuring strong technical execution aligned with business context.
- Drive data strategy initiatives, enhancing data readiness and value creation across markets.
- Enable effective customer and prospect engagement using data-driven insights and advanced analytics across all channels—including Agency, Bancassurance, and Digital—to increase new sales, repeat sales, and customer lifetime value.
- Guide in-country AI teams to apply advanced analytics for targeting, segmentation, cross-sell/up-sell opportunities, and marketing program optimization.
- Support channel expansion (Banca and Digital) and enhance sales efficiency through analytics-driven targeting and personalized offerings.
- Identify market, product, and channel-specific challenges, proposing innovative, analytics-backed solutions that balance speed-to-market with analytical rigor.
- Partner with regional and business unit leaders to prioritize and optimize analytics-driven decisions in a customer-centric, needs-based context.
- Coach and support in-country AI teams in designing, developing, and analyzing campaigns, ensuring adherence to modeling best practices.
- Establish regional/business-unit-level analytics tracking and reporting, and maintain regional best practices for campaign management.
- Diagnose root causes of underperformance, recommending improvement opportunities and corrective actions.
- Flag emerging risks early and outline mitigation strategies for respective markets.
- Collaborate with markets to develop annual business plans and performance targets informed by analytics insights.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in Data Science and Machine Learning, preferably within the retail financial services industry, prior experience in insurance/reinsurance domain is a huge plus
- Hands-on experience of multivariate analysis, modeling, segmentation and UW/claims/contact center/distribution analytics using statistical techniques
- Expert in both concept and building AI/ML models, also in using data mining languages /tools eg, some or all of Python, SAS, R, SQL or equivalents
- Experience in any big data/ cloud solution of Azure, Hadoop, Hive, Spark etc. is a plus
- Strong experience in deploying analytics solutions including targeting, test and control development, response tracking and analysis
- Experience translating complex business problems into analytical requirements and propose actionable solutions based on internal and external best practice.
- Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to persuade a wide range of colleagues
- Ability to lead and build an initiative from scratch and to handle high level of ambiguity
- Able to maintain strong, productive relationships with stakeholders and external partners
- Able to work independently as well as a good team player
- Highly regulated business environment by nature
- Some analytical solution is difficult to measure the exact financial impact, or right on the path but no immediate big financial impact and how to align stakeholders
- Data availability and data quality issues in certain markets can always be challenges to build sound analytical solutions
- Deploying analytical findings require multiple efforts from multiple stakeholders from both regional and local
- Managing stakeholders with conflicting objectives/priorities
