As part of the Group Centre of Excellence Data Science team, you will leverage large volumes of structured and unstructured data to solve real business problems across the OCBC Group. Working closely with business leaders and stakeholders, you will translate complex business challenges into Data Science, Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions that deliver measurable value - driving revenue growth, improving productivity, reducing risk, and enhancing customer experience.

You'll need to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data science and machine learning, and be able to apply these skills to drive business outcomes.
What you do
Business Collaboration: Engage with stakeholders across the OCBC Group to identify opportunities where big data and advanced analytics can create tangible business impact.
Data Integration: Partner with Data Engineering teams to source, integrate, and prepare internal and external datasets for modelling and analysis.
Model Development: Design and build machine learning and deep learning models for diverse use cases, and agentic systems for complex workflows.
Deployment & MLOps: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deploy models and smart applications into production, applying MLOps best practices to monitor, maintain, and continuously improve model performance.
Platform Enhancement: Collaborate with Data Platforms teams to advance OCBC’s AI and Data infrastructure, ensuring it remains cutting-edge and scalable.
Who you are
Core Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in building and deploying AI solutions into production environments.
Programming & Machine Learning:
Strong proficiency in Python.
Practical knowledge of Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic frameworks, including prompt engineering, evaluation, and fine-tuning.
Familiarity with Vector Databases (e.g., Elastic, Pinecone).
Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
Big Data & Databases:
Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem (Spark, Trino, Impala, Hive).
Proficiency in SQL and exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
Deployment & MLOps:
Strong grasp of MLOps concepts for production deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
Experience with RESTful APIs (e.g., FastAPI, Ray Serve).
Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools (e.g., Jira, Jenkins, Git/Bitbucket).
Communication & Soft Skills
Ability to execute effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Creativity to uncover possibilities within data and translate insights into compelling stories, decisions, and actions for non-technical business users.
Strong communication skills with a clear focus on delivering business benefits in real-world applications.
