As a Data Science Engineer at Micron, you will employ techniques and theories drawn from areas of mathematics, statistics, semiconductor physics, materials science, and information technology to uncover patterns in data from which predictive models, actionable insights, and solutions can be developed.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Data Extraction and Cleansing: Extract data from various databases using SQL and other query languages, applying data cleansing, outlier identification, and missing data techniques to ensure data quality.
  • Statistical Modeling and Machine Learning: Perform statistical modeling, feature extraction, and analysis using supervised, unsupervised, and semi-supervised learning methods on large datasets.
  • UI/Software Development: Develop and code software programs, algorithms, and web UI applications for internal business needs
  • Communication: Communicate insights and findings efficiently to product, service, and business managers through strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Big Data Analysis: Develop methods to analyze data from diverse sources to build insights for client services.
  • Teamwork: Be compatible with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.

Requirement

  • At lease Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, or engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience as a Data Scientist.
  • Experience in the areas: statistical modeling, featuring extraction and analysis, supervised/unsupervised/semi-supervised learning.
  • Exposure to the semiconductor industry is preferred.
  • Strong desire to embark your career in highly automated industrial manufacturing, doing analysis and machine learning on terabytes and petabytes of diverse datasets.
  • Experience with machine learning and other advanced analytical methods,: Python and/or R, PySpark and/or SparkR and/or SparklyR, Hadoop (Hive, Spark, HBase),Teradata and/or another SQL databases, Tensorflow, and/or other statistical software including scripting capability for automating analyses, SSIS, ETL, Javascript, AngularJS 2.0, Tableau
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
  • Strong software development skills
  • Experience with time-series data, images, semi-supervised learning, GenAI and high volume data processing is a plus.
  • Experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is preferred.
  • Existing papers from CVPR, NIPS, ICML, KDD, and other key conferences are plus, but this is not a research position.
