We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in data engineering, with expertise in SQL, Unix/shell scripting, Python, and cloud data platforms. This role requires a proactive individual who can collaborate effectively within a team and contribute to building scalable, efficient data pipelines and solutions. Fresh graduates with less than 3 years’ experience .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes to support analytics and business intelligence needs.

  • Write efficient, optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading.

  • Develop and maintain Unix/shell scripts to automate data workflows and system tasks.

  • Utilize Python for data engineering tasks including data ingestion, transformation, and integration.

  • Implement and manage cloud-based data engineering solutions on platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure.

  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.

  • Monitor data quality, troubleshoot data issues, and optimize data workflows for performance and reliability.

  • Apply basic web design and web technologies knowledge to support data visualization and dashboard integration where applicable.

  • Stay updated with emerging data engineering trends, tools, and best practices.

Required Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience in data engineering concepts and best practices.

  • Proficient in SQL for complex querying and data manipulation.

  • Solid experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting.

  • Proficient in Python programming with a focus on data engineering libraries and frameworks.

  • Basic understanding of web design and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript basics).

  • Experience with cloud data engineering platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.

  • Familiarity with data storage solutions (e.g., relational databases, data lakes, data warehouses).

Soft Skills:

  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Problem Solver: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve data-related issues.

  • Effective Communicator: Clear and concise communication skills to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing project requirements.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in data handling, pipeline design, and documentation.

  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

  • Proactive Attitude: Self-starter who takes initiative and ownership of tasks and projects.

Preferred Qualifications (Added advantage):

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).

  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git).
