Job Responsibilities :

The data engineer intern will work closely with data engineers and play a key role in the improvement of existing data pipelines and building new pipelines that are essential for the data analyst/data scientist to perform analytics and build AI/ML products and solutions. By studying and understanding the data and pipelines, the intern will perform data profiling, data processing and performance optimization to ensure that data is accurate and available to the organization. Throughout the process, the data engineer intern will be required to provide proper documentation for these implementations.
This role is part of the Big Data team which empower data-driven solutions to generate organizational value.

The intern will be able to learn data operations concept, data engineering skills and understand the wider realm of data engineering and applications in AI and analytics.

Learning Outcome

  • Industry best practices in Data Warehousing/Lakehouse

  • Pipeline design and boiler plating

  • SQL database schema and table structure design

  • Data transformation tools - DBT

  • Cloud computing technology – AWS

  • Infrastructure as code – Terraform

  • Data pipeline orchestration – Airflow

  • Industry use of CI/CD for code repository integration and deployment

  • Documentation and communication of technical solutions

  • Collaboration in cross-functional teams with data engineers, data analysts and data scientists

Pre-requisites :

  • Interest and experience in Data Engineering

  • Ability to use one or more development language (Python, SQL, etc)

  • Familiar with cloud technologies (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform)

  • Familiar with orchestration tools (Airflow)

  • Familiar with business intelligence tool (Superset)

  • Creative and innovative mindset and ability to work independently

  • Able to commit for a full-time internship from Jan 2026 - Jun 2026
