This is Adyen

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

Data Center Engineer

We’re looking for a proactive and independent Data Center Engineer to join our team in Singapore and manage the ongoing maintenance and expansion of Adyen’s data center infrastructure across the APAC region, including Japan, India, and Australia.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring high availability and operational continuity of our data centers by performing preventative maintenance, deploying new hardware, managing stock levels, and keeping our DCIM documentation fully up to date. You’ll work closely with global teams mainly based in Amsterdam and local third-party vendors, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term infrastructure growth.

What you’ll do:

  • Carry out regular preventative maintenance on our server fleets to keep things running smoothly and extend hardware lifespan.
  • Visit our APAC DC’s to deploy new servers and pre-built racks, making sure they’re installed and integrated properly into the data center environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the Data Center, Networking and Provisioning teams (mainly based in Amsterdam) to ensure deployments and operations go off without a hitch.
  • Partner with our supply chain manager to manage stock levels for critical replacement parts across our APAC data centers, so we're prepared for quick fixes when needed.
  • Coordinate and work with third-party remote hands for break-fix support and onsite tasks between scheduled visits.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and infrastructure issues efficiently to minimize disruption and downtime.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, decommissions, and secure handling of components.
  • Manage your own schedule and workload independently to ensure data center operations stay on track.
  • Take ownership of third-party hardware installation projects in our environment.
  • Be the first responder (on-call) for data center incidents in the APAC region.
  • Keep our DCIM data 100% accurate for all APAC deployments.
  • Facilitate internal and external audits.

Who you are:

  • Comfortable with frequent travel within the APAC region (Japan, India, Australia).
  • Experienced in data center operations — you’ve done server hardware deployment, maintenance, and know your way around asset and security management.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure and data center best practices.
  • Self-starter who can juggle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through.
  • Clear communicator — whether it’s writing up documentation, working with vendors, or coordinating with teams across regions.
