Get to Know the Team

The Market Insights Team helps shape strategic and operational decisions in the company by providing compelling insights into industry developments, market movements and competitive dynamics in the businesses that Grab operates - namely transport, food, payments, and platform services. Our value proposition comes from the diverse lenses through which we evaluate the landscape, made possible by many offbeat techniques used to complement traditional research.

Get to know the Role

Reporting to the Lead Data Scientist and you will be based onsite in the Grab Singapore office. Our team comprises individuals from varied backgrounds, each bringing a unique set of experiences and skills to the table. Someone who excels at teamwork, and can navigate through uncertainties would succeed in this role. In this role, you will be building and evaluating models and data sources to enable decision making across Southeast Asia.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will define metrics as well as develop and improve models to understand the competitive landscape across multiple segments of Grab's business.
• You will evaluate the validity and usefulness of a wide range of data of varying sources and types.
• You will continuously ensure the integrity of the data you use and produce, identifying anomalies and their root causes, and work with stakeholders to address these anomalies where they exist.
• You will develop pipelines for the work you do, including pipelines for the models you build.
• You will understand how Grab's products and businesses relate to your data, metrics, and models, and take actions or make recommendations using this knowledge.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You have an undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline, including but not limited to Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, Economics, Mathematics and Statistics.
• You are fluent with SQL, Python, R or other scripting/programming languages, and have hands-on experience using at least one of them.
• You have experience using generative AI in some capacity, and are passionate about expanding on this.
