Job Description

The Credit Review (Retail) function is responsible for performing comprehensive credit assessments and documentation verification for retail mortgage application. This includes evaluating borrower-provided information, publicly available data, and the lender’s assessment of the borrower’s credit requirements and repayment capacity. Reviews are conducted in alignment with regulatory guidelines and the Bank’s internal credit policies to ensure sound credit decisioning and risk management.

Job Description for Credit Reviewer:

  • Prepare, review, analyze and make recommendations for mortgage applications (including new, restructures and others)
  • Liaise with stakeholders  (including Sales staff, mortgage relations staff, Credit Operation staff) for documentations and rectifications.  
  • Compliance and documentation checks on mortgage applications
  • Review property valuation reports
  • Credit evaluation and follow up on post disbursement issues, other miscellaneous requests.

Qualifications/requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of banking experience (preferably in mortgages)
  • Aptitude in software programs and well verse in Microsoft programs especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledgeable in real estate industry, real estate current affairs and economic outlook
  • Conversant in real estate and mortgage loans regulations
  • Good credit analytical skills, meticulous and attentive to details
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good attitude and interpersonal skills, able to interact professionally and manage objections effectively
  • Able to work independently, fast learner and able to work as a team.
